Etihad Guest new promotion is offering a generous 30% discount on many kinds of redemptions, including gift cards. Still, for us, the prime interest is in the Etihad Airways Redemptions, which are also coming at a 30% discount from usual redemption rates. You must redeem and book your seats by August 27, 2020, for travel by May 31, 2021. Redemptions eligible for travel on Etihad Airways operated flights only.

For this promotion, both one-way and roundtrip travel is eligible, as long as you book GuestSeats, which is how Etihad Airways refers to their Saver Awards. You can redeem for travel in Economy, Business and First Class. The discount automatically reflects when you search for the award redemption—for instance, a Mumbai – Abu Dhabi 1-way Business Class ticket costs 21000 Miles + INR 12K.

Similarly Mumbai – New York JFK now only costs 91K Miles + INR 30K Cash in Business Class.

As a reminder, you can transfer to Etihad Guest from American Express Membership Rewards (2 MR: 1 Etihad Guest point) and Citi PremierMiles (2 PM: 1 Etihad Guest point) & Citi Prestige (1 Citi Prestige point: 4 Etihad Guest point). If you are unable to use an award ticket and need to redeposit it, a 10% deduction of the miles redeemed will be made when the award is refunded to your account.

Bottomline

Etihad Guests’ 30% off award tickets through May 2021, is a good deal if you have visibility on your travel plans through May 2021. So if you think you are ready to travel again, it is a good idea to book your tickets. If your ticket goes unused because of the cancellation of flights, you would anyways be eligible to get a full refund (I am not sure how they are processing it these days though!)
