New Emirates Promotion gives you a free stopover in Dubai for 2 nights

Emirates just launched a new promotion, which is pretty good if you are, or plan to be one of their customers based in India, and are planning to fly them in the coming days.

When you book a return revenue ticket in Business or First Class with Emirates between September 24, 2019, and October 3, 2019, for travel originating from any Emirates station in India, including Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi but excluding Mumbai and Delhi and heading to Europe, Americas or Africa, you become eligible for a hotel stay at the upmarket Address Downtown or Address Dubai Mall hotels. The complimentary accommodation is valid for Hotel stays between October 1, 2019, and November 14, 2019, or November 23, 2019, to December 10, 2019.

Complimentary accommodation in Dubai is available for a flight with a connection or stay time that is equal to or more than 10 hours, and it will be offered on either outbound or inbound itineraries, on a 24-hour check-in/check-out time basis. This promotion cannot be claimed retroactively on existing bookings. You need to book using the promotion code INDSO19 on this specific page. The offer includes taxes and Tourism Dirham Fee, but not the meals or incidentals.

Here is one itinerary between Kolkata and Paris, where this promotion will work. On one leg there is a 19-hour stopover, enough to get out the airport, sleep in a hotel bed and spend a day in Dubai before getting back to base.

And before you write off the perk as gimmicky, this isn’t any airport hotel, but a hotel in the city centre which is retailing at INR 31,000 per night. So two nights is a cool INR 60,000 if you decide to spend as much time in the city.
