Emirates Skywards 2,500 – 5,000 miles bonus

Emirates’ frequent flyer program Skywards’ offers miles for registering with the program, on taking your first flight with them. This bonus has been around for a while, but frequently people sign up for the program just for the heck of having a number and then forget about it. So I thought of putting up a short post about it.

Offer Details

You can sign up for the Emirates Skywards program here, and subsequently, if you take a flight in the next 6 months after sign-up, you get a “first flight bonus”, depending on the class of travel:

  • 2,500 Miles for Economy Class
  • 3,500 Miles for Business Class
  • 5,000 Miles for First Class

All you need to ensure is that you fly an Emirates flight, and buy the ticket with Emirates (EK flight number and Emirates aircraft). Codeshare flights and flights on other aircraft are not eligible for the First Flight Bonus.

Bottomline

Since Emirates has a large base of flyers in India, I’m wondering how many of you still need to get this bonus. But if you have a flight upcoming in the coming months with Emirates, it makes sense to sign up for an account (unless you plan to credit your flight on another program).

Are you going to pick up the first flight bonus with Emirates?
