Encalm opens new lounge at Delhi T3 International

In 2020, Delhi Airport let go of Vistara, then Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa and were working on its lounge to be operated by Encalm Hospitality. This company got into the business in 2021 and is trying to create an excellent hospitality-focused product for airport operations. This lounge was supposed to be opened in September 2022 but is now finally open.

Encalm Lounge is open as of December 6, 2022

Since the Plaza Premium Lounges at Delhi Airport abruptly shut down a month ago, international travellers (who do not fly with Air India/Vistara) have been in a bit of a pinch since the airlines have been unable to offer lounge access pre-departure to eligible passengers. However, at least as for international departures, the Delhi T3 Encalm Lounge opened its doors on December 6, 2022.

Contrary to various reports, the lounge will operate under the name of Encalm Lounge and not as Delhi Airport Lounge. The lounge operator was so keen to announce the opening that they first put out a video on their Social Media handles but did not update their website.

There will be two Encalm Lounges operational at Delhi Airport Terminal 3 International, and the one that is operational right now has taken the space that used to be occupied by ITC Green Lounge (with more space added) and is on the Mezzanine Level at Delhi T3 International.  The lounge currently has over 240 seats and is about six times bigger than the lounge it replaced. They have currently started offering Lounge Access to various credit cards (not all), but a tie-up with airlines is pending at the moment.  The Diners Club Black card by HDFC Bank is accepted at the lounge, for instance.

Here are some images. It looks like a pretty nice space, and I’m looking forward to trying it out on a future trip.

Important to note that this is not the lounge that is intended to be used by airlines for their customers in the long run, and that lounge is still a work in progress and will open in the Lounges B area of Delhi Airport shortly as well.

Bottomline

Delhi Airport Terminal 3 International Departures now sports a new lounge operated by Encalm Hospitality. The lounge access is being offered to (select) bank customers at the moment.

  1. I’ve just been to the encalm lounge at T3, the food and services were as if they just never wanted us to return back to this lounge….pathetic.

  2. Is plaza premium opening back up for Domestic and International travelers ? That sux that they opened this without partnering with airlines (still oending). Leaves business class passengers stranded during a busy holiday season!!
