No RT-PCR needed for arrival into Delhi from Maharashtra / Andhra Pradesh / Telangana anymore

As the CoVid-19 pandemic subsides, for the time being, Indian states have started to wind down requirements for travel, specifically air travel. We posted the list of states that now permit air travel arrivals from domestic passengers without RT-PCR testing, as long as passengers got the vaccination completed.

Delhi now opening up to air travel from all states

During the early times of the pandemic, the Delhi Government had required to present an RT-PCR test to travel into Delhi from Maharashtra airports (Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, etc.). Subsequently, Delhi had also put out a requirement for RT-PCR tests for those arriving from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In the unlock guidelines issued on June 13, 2021, Delhi states,

Also, a separate order issued to waive RT-PCR reports for those coming in from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

This waiver is now also confirmed by Delhi Airport and various airlines.

Bottomline

With this move, it is no longer required to produce an RT-PCR report to arrive in Delhi anymore. This should be a positive for those who travel to Delhi. However, Delhi will still randomly screen those arriving at Delhi Airport and put them through an RT-PCR test right as you land.
