Etihad Airways Buy Miles with 30% Bonus

Buying miles can represent a tremendous opportunity to travel in luxury in a high-airfare environment, especially when airlines also run a promotion on their points offering. Now, Etihad Airways is offering a not-very-often miles promotion on Etihad Guest miles purchases, offering an opportunity to receive up to a 30% bonus on the purchase of miles. Read on.

Buy Etihad Guest Miles

Through December 3, 2024, 23:59 Gulf Standard Time (December 4, 2024, 1:29 IST), Etihad offers an opportunity to buy miles with up to a 30% bonus. The promotion being offered is a tiered one, and here are the tiers being offered:

  • Buy 25,000-49,000 miles, and get a 20% bonus.
  • Buy 50,000-100,000 miles, and get a 30% bonus.

If I go through with the top end of my promotion, I could buy 130,000 miles at 2,000 USD, which is 1.54 US Cents / INR 1.3 per Etihad Guest Mile purchased.

The maximum number of miles you can purchase per calendar year is 100,000, but if you are a Platinum member, you can buy 150,000 miles (excluding any applied bonuses). Miles are usually posted to your account quickly, but at most within 72 hours.

You should use an American Express Platinum Charge Card, Axis Bank Olympus or an Axis Bank Reserve Credit Card because the purchase will be processed in US Dollars by Points.Com. This way, you get bonus points for your purchase because it is international.

Etihad Guest is the only way to get inventory for the Etihad Apartments because other programmes don’t have access to it. However, it does come with significant fuel surcharges at the moment. But you must remember there have beento Etihad Guest, recent changes  which are restrictive in terms of ticket cancellations and mileage expiry.

Bottomline

Etihad is offering up to a 30% bonus on the purchase of miles on their latest promotion for the purchase of miles. The Etihad Guest programme has many good uses, including flying on American Airlines and Etihad Airways premium cabins. The promotion is valid till December 3, 2024, 23:59 hours Gulf Standard Time.

  1. Why is this bonus not showing up for some of us? I’ve been trying for the last three days by logging in, and I don’t see any mention of a bonus offer.
