Club Carlson is running a point purchase promotion where you will get 75% bonus on points purchased through May 15, 2017.
Under this promotion a minimum of 1,000 points and a maximum of 40,000 Club Carlson base points can be purchased. The 75% bonus will reduce the purchase value to USD 4 per 1000 points from the regular value of USD 7 per 1,000 points. The points will take between 2 to 5 days to reflect in your account.
The Carlson Rezidor Group has about 1,000 hotels worldwide, with about 100 properties spread across 70 cities in India alone. To me Club Carlson is one membership program that really holds value for Indian travellers. It’s the only global hotel chain you will find in smaller cities like Mohali, Katra and Salem. In spite of the fact that a lot of Indian hotels became ore expensive this year, a big positive is that Indian hotels mainly fall under Categories 1,2 & 3, which not only that redemption points required as less but also that the room rates are not very high.
For example, a reward nights at the Phoenix Park Inn costs 15,000 rewards points while a standard room at this boutique resort sells at INR 10,000 plus in the winter holiday season. This gives a value of INR 0.67 per point. With a 75% bonus you’ll need to purchase 9,000 points for USD 63 / INR 4,100. Now this will nearly double your return value on a redemption night that costs INR 10,000.
A few other Carlson Rezidor hotels that make a great choice for redemption are :
- Radisson Hotel Khajuraho, India / Category 1 / 9,000 points
- Park Inn by Radisson Budapest, Hungary / Category 1 / 9,000 points
- Radisson Udaipur, India / Category 2 / 15,000 points
- Radisson Narita, Japan / Category 2 / 15,000 points
This purchase promotion is definitely one to consider if you have a Club Carlson membership and stay at Club Carlson hotels. There are some good hotels out there for which you may want to stash away some points for redemption. Of course if you are falling short of points in your account then it’s worth adding up the points now.

Radisson Blu in June is 6450 and by gold points it is 44000. So by points it is much expensive as compared to cash. Their redemption points per night are not standard and increase with increase in room rent.
What is your opinion on this.
@Kunal, For me it’s usually category 1, 2& 3 Carlson hotels that make more sense for reward nights. I’d rather redeem 4 nights at a Cat 1, like the Radisson in Khajuraho ; which is price at INR 6,000 per night in the winters, than look at a single night in Category 5 hotel.
Hi, does these purchased points have an expiry date?
