Bengaluru Airport gets second Airport Lounge on Domestic Pier

Bengaluru Airport has been operating with a solitary lounge for the longest time, the BLR Domestic Lounge, which has been crowded at peak hours. Although when I flew out of Bengaluru a couple of weeks ago, it did not look so bad honestly. Bengaluru Airport has also been working on launching a second lounge at the airport, at the spot which used to be the Above Ground Level Lounge or AGL Lounge earlier.

The new lounge was supposed to go live on February 7, 2022, and is located right across the BLR Lounge. It is now open, and accepting the Axis Bank Debit Cards and American Express Cards (Which have Lounge Access enabled), as per Umang Sonthalia, who posted some great images of this new lounge on Twitter.

As per Umang,

The lounge is super spacious, much bigger than the older lounge. Lots of lounge chairs + dining seats. There is a small library area, a small movie area, a couple of bars counters and 2 long buffet setups.

Also, they have live counters for Dosa, Eggs and Pancakes.

They have long been marketing it as “the lounge Bangalore deserves.” I feel it keeps up the promise. Will have to see how its service fares up once they open doors to all card networks.

Ultimately, both the BLR Lounge and the 080 Lounge are owned by the Bengaluru Airport, and they have appointed TFS (Travel Food Services, a popular concessions operator at the airport, and also the contractor which operates the popular Adani Lounge and American Express Lounge in Mumbai.

Bottomline

Bengaluru Airport has a new lounge on the Domestic Pier, called 080 Lounge, which is offered only to Amex cardmembers right now, apart from Axis Bank Debit Cards. More card networks should be signing up over time to offer access to this lounge.

Have you been over to the Zero Eight Zero Lounge at Bengaluru Airport Domestic? What do you feel about the experience?

  1. Posting from the lounge. Used my axis bank priority debit card. They are accepting a bunch of Amex cards, axis debit card and pp. Lunch spread was decent, and the interiors look great. Best part was that it was much less crowded than the other lounge. In fact i had noticed this new lounge when waiting in the queue of the older lounge, and thought to check it out.

  2. The lounge is excellent was there during lunch time and they had a full star hotel spread and food was excellent and the line was very spacious, they are allowing Amex and priority pass

  3. Made a quick pitstop there and can say the pancakes are decent. Besides the listed cards, they are also unofficially letting Business Class pax and elites in. Tried my luck as a Vistara Gold worked like a charm.

    • It is for Axis and Amex debit card holders. Although not for all cards, for Axis priority and above debit card holders.

  4. When lounge is being managed by the same service provider, BIAL could have kept the new Lounge also under the same name.
