American Express adds new Amex Offers capability to website

American Express has been doing some good work behind the scenes to enable users to get benefits out of their cards. American Express, for the longest time, has been using a separate website which would be used for users to register for targetted offers. Also, many times, the offer emails would come in much later than the offer being officially launched.

Now, American Express has made a new enhancement to the offers section, adding it directly under the transactions section of every card account that you have on offer. This way, you get to see new offers, and even expiring soon promotions all in one place. This capability was already available on the American Express USA website and now offered in India too.

For example, these are the Amex Offers listed on my Jet Airways Platinum Credit Card:

And here are the offers listed on my American Express Platinum Card:

Like you can see, there are some excellent cashback offers presented here which one can register for right away.

  • Uber: Get INR 100 cashback on three times paying for your Uber with American Express for at least INR 250.
  • Amazon India: Spend INR 5,000 or more and get a 10% cashback (up to a max of INR 1,500, 1 time-use).
  • BookMyShow: Spend INR 1,500 or more and get a 10% cashback (up to a max of INR 250, multiple uses)
  • Swiggy: Spend INR 500 or more three times on your Amex, and get INR 200 cashback. (1-time use)
  • Flipkart: Spend INR 5,000 or more and get a 10% cashback (up to a max of INR 1,500, 1-time use).
  • BigBasket: Spend INR 3,000 or more and get a 10% cashback (up to a max of INR 1,000, multiple uses).

These promotions are going to show up as and when your account is targetted but then you would have to expressly opt-in by clicking Save to Card for the promotion. I’ve seen promotions being pushed out on the following cards as of now:

I think this is a pretty good addition to the American Express website interface. You should go to your American Express personal websites, and login and check your own Amex Offers India.

  1. Where can we exactly see the offers ( as shown by you in the image shared above ).
Probably i checked the website but I’ve not been able to find the same. Please share the details about the same.

  2. Guys I have a doubt.
I have got Dinners Black in July, and till now i have earned 1,00,000 points (Mostly through 10x & smartbuy)
Just now i got AMEX PLAT TRAVEL CARD
My question is, Is it that easy to earn Amex MR points? as i heard it is 1 MR point for ₹50 spent
So for a basic Marriot room redemption i need 6,000 MR. So, I need to spend ₹ 3,00,000 i get 6000 MR so that i can redeem 1 night in a Marriot hotel.
Is there any other way to Accelarate points?

    • Same experience here. Got Amex Plat & DCB in same month and since then have spent almost same amount and earned 40000 RP worth 40k on DCB and only 20000 on Amex platinum worth 5k pennies. Accept for international lounge benefits AMEX plat is absolutely useless for domestic spends in terms of spend to reward ratio against DCB especially when you factor in high annual fees

      • Amex Plat by most accounts is good for the first year. Factor in either vouchers or membership reward points of 1Lac. Followed by very important, Hotel Statuses which are not easy to achieve. Dining memberships, Eazyprime, Taj Epicure, Platinum dining and so many other ongoing offers. Check out Amex connect if you havent already.

Its a lifestyle card, not so much about earning points for spending.
High Spend lifestyle e.g. fly business class on personal expense, with Amex get upgrades and/or discounts 10-15% which is a lot. Going to a concert e.g. U2 coming to India in near future. tickets are like 65k and with Amex Plat u get it for 40k. Thats 25k savings per ticket.

Again if you arent a big spender on travel, (airline, hotel), lifestyle, Amex plat doesn’t hold value after second year due to its high annual fee.

  3. Nice offer
    booked flight ticket through amazon
Got amazon pay cashback of 2500 through prime offer and another 1500 discount through charge card offer.
Fr 28000 disc 4000 rd discount

  4. I got 4 offers off the 7 on my membership rewards card. Already used the Swiggy, but I got Swiggy offer usable 3 times.

  5. I saw this 2 days ago in my account, I added all the offers to my Plat Charge and even used the one for Flipkart yesterday. This is pretty similar to what Amex card offers in the US. Good move by Amex!
