American Express rolls out offers for Diwali spends every year for the past three years or so. The American Express offer for 2016 was pretty simple. They gave out about INR 20,000 worth of Tanishq vouchers to spenders in a tiered fashion. In 2017, American Express offered 12,500 worth of Tanishq Vouchers as well. The Amex Diwali Offer for 2018 had moved to movie offers on the low-end and Tanishq on the high-end.
Now, the Amex Diwali Spend Offers 2019 are being rolled out, and this year everyone gets something on the back of their spend patterns. Spend periods for these start from October 1, 2019, onwards and are valid through November 30, 2019. Here is all you need to know about Amex Diwali Spend Offers 2019.
The Platinum & Centurion Charge Cards and the co-brand credit cards have been kept out of the ambit of the spend this time around. That means, the following cards are a part of the promotion:

- Offer 1: Spend INR 50,000. Get INR 3,000 Paytm Movie Voucher(s) [6% RoS]
- Offer 2: Spend INR 1,50,000. Get INR 8,000 Paytm Flight Voucher(s) [5.3% RoS]
- Offer 3: Spend INR 2,50,000. Get INR 1,2500 Domestic Travel Hotel Stay Voucher(s) [5% RoS]
- Offer 4: Spend INR 4,75,000 to get INR 25,000 Domestic Travel Hotel Stay Voucher(s) [5.3% RoS]
The offer is applicable for some American Express Cardmembers, who will hear directly from American Express about it via email. Supplementary cardmembers will also contribute to the spends on the primary cardmember. There are no exclusions of what kind of spends don’t count. The vouchers will come to you by February 2020, and be valid for a couple of months.
Bottomline
If you have some big spends coming up, this could be a good promotion to look up to get another 5% out of your spends. Maybe it is indeed time to buy that car and put the payment on your credit card. What say? Whatever you do or don’t, do sign up for the promotion right away so that you don’t forget about it later.
Which American Express Spends Offers 2019 did you receive?
Pathetic offers from Amex. not expected this .
I got the offer for my Plat. 20K voucher on 4L. For Plats, the spending till 31st December will be counted, unlike 30th November for other cards.
The terms and conditions say the following:
“The offer is applicable for only select American Express® Platinum Cardmembers. A Cardmember is eligible for this offer only if he/she has received an offer communication directly from American Express through any of its channels.”
So they are sending separate offers to Plat and Cents.
This is not expected from American Express. The offer is not that really great. Should offer some Tanishq gold vouchers instead of flight tickets or domestic hotels.

I believe it is not a tiered offer – same as last time. If you have received the email for Offer 4, then the other thresholds do not apply. Not happy about this!
