American Express Lounge Delhi Airport to reopen in December 2020 after renovation

With the CoVid-19 pandemic raging, air travel had come to a halt from March 2020 onwards. With the low loads on restart in May 2020 and capacity controls in place, it was clear that the airports would be empty for the time being.

Due to the pandemic, also, American Express had shut down their lounges around the globe whilst they figured out the state of air travel and also the new processes in line with the law of the land and health guidance to ensure they would be doing what is best for the customers of American Express.

In Mumbai, all lounges are closed at the moment for domestic travellers, including the American Express Lounge.

While the Mumbai American Express lounge was opened with the new global looks of American Express lounges, the Delhi one never got the update for a while. At Delhi Airport, American Express has taken the opportunity to close the lounge and bring up some much-needed upgrades to the lounge.

I was at the Delhi airport earlier this week, and there was a timeline and a picture of how the upgraded lounge would look like. I am looking forward to the upgraded American Express Lounge at Delhi Airport, which is expected to open this month (December 2020). The location will be the same as before, at the T point of the Domestic section of Terminal 3, Delhi Airport.

These images very clearly show that the updated lounge is going to be in line with the global American Express lounge look and feel, with the green wall entrance and brown interiors with white casual seating.  Also, there looks like there will be a full hot buffet at some point in time (after CoVid-19).

It looks like eligible American Express cardmembers are in for a treat once the upgraded American Express lounge in Delhi opens up.

Anyone knows any more about the American Express Lounge Delhi there is to know at this point?
