Akasa to operate flights to Jeddah (from Mumbai and Ahmedabad)

Akasa Air was all set to launch its international operations with the addition of the 20th aircraft in 2023, which has to be the quickest launch for an airline internationally. Earlier, one needed to have five years of operations and 20 aircraft in their fleet to be eligible for International operations; however, the guidelines now only require the airline to have 20 aircraft. Akasa closed 2023 with a fleet of 22 aircraft, just 17 months after launching operations.

The airline eventually launched its first international route in March 2024, when the schedule flipped. The first route on which Akasa operates is between Mumbai and Doha, four times a week.
