Bengaluru is preparing to transition all international operations into the airport at Terminal 2, effective August 31, 2023. Star Air, AIX Connect and Vistara had transitioned to Terminal 2 earlier (for their domestic operations). Now, Air India has also announced a move.
Air India to move all operations at Bengaluru to Terminal 2 on August 31, 2023
Air India has notified that it will shift its flight operations from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru from August 31, 2023. From 00:01 hours, August 31, all Air India operations, domestic and international, will operate to and from Terminal 2 of the airport except for AI176 from San Francisco, which will land at Terminal 1 on August 31, 2023, but will move operations to Terminal 2 on subsequent days.
With this move, Akasa and IndiGo will be some of the key players at Bengaluru who will also operate out of Terminal 1.

Air India has announced the complete move of the airline from Terminal 1 at BLR to Terminal 2 on August 31, 2023. Henceforth, all domestic and international flights will operate out of Terminal 2 in Bengaluru for Air India, except for one exception for August 31, 2023. With this move being complete, IndiGo, Akasa and SpiceJet will be the key airlines that will operate out of Terminal 1 for domestic operations.
