Air India’s Flying Returns might be turning into an important program to look up again because of their recent in-principle acceptance in the Star Alliance, and the ability to earn these miles with credit cards as well now. For those of you who do not have an Air India Flying Returns account, this might be a good time to start-up on one. Air India has been offering 1,000 miles towards opening a new account for a while.
All that it requires of you to be doing, is to go to this link, and generate a new account for yourself. Miles will post on taking the first flight.

Just an FYI, you won’t get this enrollment bonus unless you fly first.
@Varun: It is the same as your first flight bonus. You will only get the 1000 bonus miles once you undertake your first travel. I got it confirmed by the Flying Returns team.
Is this different from the 1st flight bonus of 1000 miles ?
Just signed up using your link. Did not see the 1000 miles. Any idea when it will be posted? Thanks.
@Mike this is not my link, but Air India’s itself. So I suppose they will run a batch process to give you these miles.
I’m unfortunately yet to hear back from SBI guys regarding my application for the AI signature card. Anybody else got their’s yet?
Hi Vishal I got my card about a month back.
