When it comes to branding, one of the most significant mandates in aviation is right now with Air India Group. As the airline moves forward with what CEO Campbell Wilson usually refers to as the Mother of all Airline turnarounds, the airline does have some unusual ways of putting out information before the time is right.
Air India Express logo inadvertently revealed?
Air India had a grand reveal of the airline’s rebranding effort in August 2023 but had inadvertently let out the logo on their webcast link before the actual reveal.
From there on, the logo has only made it to the internal rebranding of Air India, and the airline plans to reveal it only once its first aircraft in the new livery arrives, of which, by the way, they tweeted out pictures recently.
Air India Express is further along in the process, having acquired two brand-new aircraft already and sent them for a paint job. Air India Express intends to announce the new livery and rebranding after they receive these aircraft in the new livery. However, they did a not-so-great job protecting their IP before they put it out to the world, or one of their partners jumped the gun.
At a running event of the upcoming Noida International Airport, in some mysterious way, there was a different logo to showcase Air India Express.
Here is a zoomed-in version of the logos on the board.
As you can see, there is a new logo out there, which is different from what is the current Air India Express Logo.
To cut a long story short, just like Air India, do we have the Air India Express logo in the open before its intended date?
Bottomline
The (perhaps new) Air India Express logo has been inadvertently put out in public circulation before its official reveal by the Air India Group. It carries the same font as the new Air India logo (Air India Sans) and seems all set to be revealed.
What do you think of the new Air India Express Logo?
