We are now in the last laps of migrating over 45,00,000 Club Vistara member accounts to Air India Flying Returns, which will be known as the Maharaja Club after combining the two loyalty programmes.
This might be a sentimental moment for frequent travellers, given that many people who started “frequently flying” after the pandemic subsided only had Club Vistara as their first frequent flyer programme. It will be a challenging time memorising your Air India loyalty account number. For one, I still remember my JetPrivilege number but have yet to memorise my CV Number either (it was one of the easiest since it was one of the first few sign-ups in 2014).
To ensure that you can be prepared for all kinds of situations, please do the following activities before the migration takes over. Your Club Vistara accounts will be inaccessible effective November 10, 2024, from 4 PM IST onward. You can then log into your Air India FR/MC account once the migration is completed. You will still be granted your points and entitlements for all trips you make on Vistara between 4 PM IST on November 10 and 1159 PM IST on November 11, 2024.
I would recommend you log in and take the following information from your account.
- Take a screenshot of your status, tier points, and flights, all of which appear on the opening page after you log in. This way, if there is any confusion or grievance later, you will have documentary proof.
- You can download your entire transaction history with Vistara. For instance, I downloaded a PDF file with transaction history for the period between September 2014 and November 6, 2024. This includes all the data from my first flight with Vistara in January 2024 and onwards. If nothing else, it makes for good nostalgia.
- Also, you should take a screenshot of any unused vouchers, be it ticket vouchers or upgrade vouchers.
Also, if you have any retroclaims to make for flights taken, don’t wait till the last minute. Please do it now!
While I am sure that Vistara and Air India will do their best to integrate correctly, it is ultimately an IT system, and Murphy’s law states, “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.” So, why take a chance? Besides, Vistara’s track record in the past with respect to IT has been not exactly the best, you know.
Bottomline
We are almost at the end of the road where Club Vistara and Flying Returns will merge on November 12, 2024, to form Maharaja Club. To ensure that you can preserve everything you need to use from your Vistara account, you should take a screenshot of all that is important.
What are your last thoughts before Club Vistara and Air India Flying Returns merge in the coming days?

I have a case of 3 business class vouchers issueable until 27.03.2025 being issued (by them!) without my approval but now stand as issued and valid until 07.02.2025.
This is nasty cheating and manipulation at its best to reduce their liabilities!!
Did they think that they will get away with this blatant move?
Hi AEL
I’m in the same boat – but not at all perturbed by the recent action of compulsory activation of the vouchers.
Club Vistara have previously said they’ll migrate the “On-Demand Vouchers” to Flying Returns with a fixed validity of 9 months. Its there on the website and also sent to us via mail (and reported by Ajay previously as well).
I quote:
“On-demand Vouchers: Vouchers available under the “On-demand Voucher Generation” feature that are not issued by 11 November 2024 will be automatically issued to the Flying Returns account with a fixed validity of 9 months.”
Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and hold our horses until after 11-11.
@Ajay, thanks for the recommended action.
Done, thanks
