In December 2020, American Express informed cardmembers of the Jet Airways American Express Platinum Credit Card about the card’s upcoming discontinuation. The card should be discontinued anytime after 30 days of issuance of the notice, which means late January 2021 or early February 2021. While Amex will be issuing new American Express Platinum Travel Credit Cards to everyone who wish to receive a new card, what about those who intend to continue to earn InterMiles with their credit cards?
The remaining InterMiles co-brand card partners have figured this out. Till January 31, 2021, the three co-brand partners of InterMiles are offering lifetime free cards to members of the current Jet Airways Amex Platinum cards.
Here are the offers from the various card issuers.
HDFC Bank is offering a lifetime-free InterMiles HDFC Bank Diners Club Credit Card to those who had the Jet Airways Amex Platinum, and are already HDFC Bank customers (perhaps the second condition is because of the moratorium on acquiring new customers for credit cards). The new card comes with 25,000 bonus InterMiles:
- A Welcome Benefit of 10,000 InterMiles upon making minimum spends of INR 20,000 within the first 30 days of card set-up date.
- 15,000 Bonus InterMiles upon making total retail spending of INR 1,50,000 or above within the first 90 days of card set-up date.
There is also a renewal benefit of 10,000 InterMiles upon making minimum spends of INR 20,000 within the first 30 days of the card renewal date. Not just that, you get the following vouchers as well:
- Two discount Flight vouchers worth INR 1000 each for the first year on https://www.intermiles.com
- Two discount Hotel vouchers worth INR 1500 each for the first year on https://interbook.intermiles.com
The card costs INR 5,000 plus taxes per annum without this offer.
ICICI Bank is offering a lifetime-free InterMiles ICICI Bank Sapphiro Credit Card to those who had the Jet Airways Amex Platinum. The new card comes with 15,000 bonus InterMiles, a welcome benefit upon making minimum spends of INR 20,000 within the first 30 days of card set-up date.
A renewal benefit of 5,000 InterMiles is available upon making minimum spends of INR 20,000 within the first 30 days of the renewal date. You can choose between the Visa and American Express variants. You also get the following vouchers:
- 2 Flight discount vouchers worth INR 750 each for the first year on https://www.intermiles.com
- 2 Hotel discount vouchers worth INR 1500 each for the first year on https://interbook.intermiles.com/
The card costs INR 5,000 plus taxes per annum without this offer.
IndusInd Bank is offering a lifetime-free InterMiles IndusInd Odyssey Credit Card to those who had the Jet Airways Amex Platinum. The new card comes with up 15,000 bonus InterMiles, a benefit upon making minimum spends of INR 60,000 within the first 90 days of card set-up date.
There are many other details to know, of course, if you decide to sign up for these offers from one of the three banks, and perhaps you can sign up for all three as well if you’d like. Of course, the HDFC Bank offer is the most lucrative due to all the perks that come along which are more generous than the other two, apart from the milestone bonus in year 1.
Has anyone applied for and received new credit cards under this promotion already? Apply now, because not much time is left, the lifetime free card offer is just till January 31, 2021.

Serious question? … Why waste your time on InterMiles in India when you have the Citibank PremierMiles option and Amex MR. Transferrable points is the way forward. Even though my main centre of banking is the UK and I am a BA Gold Card holder, my card of choice is the old SPG (now Marriott bonvoy) Amex.
Unfortunately, we do not have good MC/Visa options in the UK hence our reliance on Amex.
But in India, you are in a good place with a range of cards that accumulate transferrable points via both MC/Visa or Amex. That’s where I would put all my energies in!
Icici has a stupid process – they ask for all customer information over a telephone call, and then promised to send me the link with filled information to sign and upload documents 🙁 I refused to give my details to a faceless person on a phone and asked for a link where I can fill my own details myself – they don’t have one….;(((
Finally have asked indusind, they have offered to send a person to collect the documents and get the form signed.
I am also trying for the ICICI one but not 100% that I will get it since I had closed the AMEX Jet CC.
BTW out of curiosity can I hold INFINIA and INTERMILES Diners together.
Got a call from ICICI the offer has been extended till Feb 28th and they as they are looking into how they can or not put me in the eligiblity list.
Sadly ICICI has been super slow with this all had there been no extension of offer I would not have recived any call from them. Since I had canned my card earlier I am not sure they will oblidge but lets see.
Do Intermiles have any value left?
Have applied for the IndusInd Odyssey Visa card. I was informed the 15k bonus sign-up points will be given without the required INR 60k spend, because of the existing Intermiles Platinum status
How did you apply for the IndusInd card? I can’t find a link to apply on IndusInd’s website.
Also, where can I find details about the Rs. 60k spend waiver for Intermile Platinum members?
Thanks.
