For quite some time now, we have known that IndiGo will launch flights to Istanbul. A recent codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines indicated that IndiGo would begin flights soon. IndiGo confirmed in a conference call that IndiGo Istanbul flights would start from March 2019.
IndiGo has now opened up bookings for their Delhi – Istanbul flight, with the first flight scheduled on March 20, 2019. The flight will be operated daily by an Airbus A321neo. IndiGo received its first Airbus A321neo (VT-IUA) last month and has another 149 aircraft on order. They should be able to get the second one quickly now that the Entry In Service for the first one is complete.
The flight schedule is,
6E 011 DEL1340-1810IST 321 D
6E 012 IST1945-0415(+1)DEL 321 D
From March 29, 2019, the flight will have a slight change in schedule,
6E 011 DEL1400-1815IST 321 D
6E 012 IST2035-0505(+1)DEL 321 D
The flight is blocked at 6:45-7 hours to Istanbul and 6 hours for the return journey. IndiGo has launched some great introductory fares starting at INR 24k roundtrip. Those are some attractive fares in exchange for sitting on slimline seats for 7 hours and having only three washrooms for 222 passengers.
Indian tourists with valid Schengen visa or USA, UK, Ireland visa or residence permit may get their single entry e-Visa for Turkey. A single entry e-visa costs $44. Indians who do not have valid visas or residence permits of these countries will, however, need to apply for sticker visa, with the single entry visa fee being INR 3940. The e-visa process is extremely easy and when Ajay travelled last year, he got his visa in a jiffy.
Are you taking advantage of great Introductory fares on IndiGo’s new flight to Istanbul?
Please advise if Indigo flyers to Instanbul with Valid USA visa can apply evisa to Turkey?
Huge difference. Turkish from Delhi starts at 46k. Should work well.
I am planning a trip to Turkey with my family in coming April. Based in Chennai I checked the indigo fare to IST for my family of 3 adults and 1 child it’s costing ₹133k. In Oman air I got a fare of 130k for the same dates. The timings on both airlines are similar indigo arriving at 1815 and Oman air at 1900. The layovers in DEL/MCT are same too. About 2 hours. For me this indigo fare is not attractive as in Oman air I get meals and inflight entertainment which is not there in Indigo.
Also keep in mind SAUDIA offers ₹35k return fares on MAA-IST regularly.
If indigo offered 25k MAA-IST then it is a VFM deal.
Check with Kuwait Airways . They have cheapest fares to IST . I travelled from BLR-IST for a return fare of 25k in October 2018 .
Kuwait airport isn’t that good but that fare was a steal in my opinion.
You will require a transit visa @ Kuwait
No, I did not require any transit visa in Kuwait . Normal transiting just like other airports .
Very tempting fares indeed! But one must add the cost of 1 night hotel stay in this fare. I agree that currently very few carriers land at IST in the morning but the fares are also very high. At least for the dates I was searching for.
6E still makes lot of sense even after including the hotel cost.
