Registration is now open for Marriott Reward’s new 2017 MegaBonus promotion. This promotion is valid for stays beginning January 16 up to April 15,2017. You will need to register for this promotion by March 15,2017.

The promotion is targeted and members will receive one of the three offers:

A

• Earn double MR bonus points on your first three  paid stays between January 16, 2017 and April 15, 2017

B

• Earn double MR bonus points on your first three paid stays between January 16, 2017 and April 15, 2017
• After completing the three paid stays, the member will earn 15,000 MR bonus points after 10 paid nights plus an additional 1,500 bonus points for every additional paid night up to 15,000 bonus points. Maximum of 30,000 bonus points can be earned under promotion B

C

• Earn double points on your first three paid stays between January 16, 2017 and April 15, 2017
• After completing the three paid stays, the member will earn 30,000 bonus points after 20 paid nights plus an additional 1,500 bonus points for every additional paid night up to 15,000 bonus points. Maximum of 45,000 MR bonus points can be earned under promotion C.

Keep in mind that the first three stays which earn double bonus points will not be counted towards the additional nights for Promotions B  or C. Also, stays at Ritz Carlton hotels will count towards qualifying stays and nights.

I received the base promotion A for double points for the first three stays and I am not at all excited about it.  This year’s MegaBonus is different from the last version primarily because last year I could choose between two options. When I compare my MegaBonus offer with IHG’s 2017 Accelerate promotion and the opportunity to earn 100,000 Club Carlson bonus points by completing twenty nights, it looks quite weak and I am going to give this one a pass.
