Last shot to get in on Hilton Elite status, including Diamond

Last month, after Hyatt offered Diamond status to many folks on Twitter, admittedly trying to switch up SPG elites after a transaction was announced between Starwood and Marriott. This was followed up by Hilton announcing a status match program, of a much bigger dimension than Hyatt’s. They are so serious about it, that they’ve even made a website for it.

Hilton will be matching those with status on another Hotel Chain, such as IHG, Marriott, Starwood and Hyatt to their own HHonors loyalty program, even including their top-tier Diamond status. However, this status match opportunity is available only till January 11, 2016.

To request a status match, you go to this website and provide them with the information about your existing status on a competing program, as well as your HHonors number, if you have one.

If you qualify for the status match, Hilton will send you out an email pretty quickly, and your new status will be valid till March 31, 2017. Hilton is being pretty generous with their Diamond status here, which does get you in the Executive Lounge and also free breakfast, if not an upgrade for sure. You can check the benefits of the various HHonors tiers here.

Also, Hilton is pretty okay with upping your status again and again, so, even if you have had the Diamond status match back in the day, they would be happy to do it for you again.
