As the traveller’s lounge, we find it to be our duty to bring to you the best of deals on airports and hotels, but also on good lifestyle when something shows up. Zomato Gold is one such call of duty.
Zomato launched Zomato Gold in India last month, a paid membership program that entitled members to complimentary food and drinks. For food, the offer was one entree free as long as there are two people on a table at a member restaurant, and for drinks, you get two drinks complimentary on ordering two.
At launch, the program offered at 1200 restaurants in Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bangalore. However, since then, another 200 or so restaurants have been added in Hyderabad and Pune as well. They have some lovely marquee names on offer, including casual dining outlets and 5-star restaurants as well.
Given the lucrative nature of the promotion, I passed along in the first round when pricing was just INR 299 for three months and INR 999 for 12 months thinking this is too good to be true. However, in the second round, when the pricing was INR 1299 for 12 months, I did jump on the sale.
And it has already paid me back the price within 15 days of having the membership. See, we eat out a lot. So, over the past ten days, we’ve been out twice when the membership came handy. Once at the Fatty Bao, and once at Pizza Express. Over these two visits, we saved ourselves over 1300 inclusive of taxes.
Today, another of these memberships are going on sale. The 3-month package goes for INR 799 today and one-year for 1899 INR. But if you’d like, we could add another month to your package if you used the code THEFOOQF. With this code, you get another extra month in your Zomato Gold, which should make it even cheaper in the pocket. Here is the link to head to Zomato Gold. Axis Bank cardholders get another 20% off.
In case you are interested, this sale starts at noon today, and in my experience, sells out quickly. So, if you’re looking for some good meals at reasonable pricing, this is your opportunity to get in on this deal.
Are you signing up for Zomato Gold? Do share your experience with the program here if you are already a member.
I’m sure there are many like me who thank you so many times through the year (in their heads) but very few times here 🙂
Thanks a lot Ajay & Shipra.
Hi Ajay
Thanks for update.I secured mine last night when only 100 odd were left 🙂
Regards
“The use of Zomato Gold requires a minimum of 2 people on the table.”
Bummer. For food 1+1, this makes sense. 2+2 would have been nicer without this limitation, especially since they seem to have a lot of bars in NCR on their list.
@Amex Guy the T&C have been carefully drafted to avoid exploitation of loopholes.
For those who signed up in the first round, upgrade to annual membership is only 1100/-.
