If you’re an infrequent traveller, this offer might be for you. For a limited time, the programme is offering two striking perks: a free elite status upgrade for most members and a 5X points-earn rate for those already at the top tier. For reference, Wyndham offers many interesting hotel brands, such as Travelodge, Howard Johnson, La Quinta, Ramada, and Ramada Encore, among others. Read along.
Wyndham Rewards Holiday Gift: Free Status Upgrade or Points Multiplier
Wyndham is launching a holiday-themed promotion for guests interested in staying with Wyndham over the holidays. Every Wyndham Rewards member at the base levels (Blue, Gold, Platinum) can claim an upgrade of one tier through December 31, 2025. For members who are already at the highest tier, Diamond, there’s a special offer: after registration, they can earn 5 times the base points on qualifying paid stays booked directly and completed by December 31, 2025. Here is the link.

In short: if you’re ordinarily a mid-tier member, you get a bump up for free; if you’re already elite, you get a big multiplier. Wyndham refers to this as their “Holiday Gift” to members.
Upgrade for non-Diamond members.
The promotion is valid for registrations from November 12, 2025, through December 30, 2025 (US ET). The benefit expires on December 31, 2025; your upgraded tier will only last through that date. It doesn’t automatically carry you into the new year. The upgrade does not count toward nights/rollover nights for next year’s tier. In other words, it’s a one-time temporary bump, not a permanent fast-track.
5X points for Diamond members
You must be a Diamond member within Wyndham Rewards — and receive the offer via email or in your “My Promotions” section of your account. Just like the other offer, you must register for the offer by December 30, 2025 and complete the stay(s) by December 31, 2025. The 5× multiplier applies to the “base points” you’d earn for a stay; so if you’d usually earn, say, 2,000 base points, you’d walk away with 10,000 (5X). There is a cap, though: a maximum of 60,000 bonus points under this offer (that is, the “bonus” portion above base) for each member.
Why would Wyndham roll out such a generous-looking offer?
From Wyndham’s point of view, status upgrades cost very little if the members don’t actually stay—or don’t stay enough. So offering a bump for everyone is a goodwill gesture that might drive bookings. The 5× offer for Diamond members is a carrot to drive more paid stays toward year-end. When booked directly, the chain always receives a higher margin. It may also help Wyndham compete in a crowded hotel-loyalty market by grabbing attention.
From a traveller’s (that’s you) point of view, if you’re a non-elite or low-tier member, you get to pretend you’re a “higher status” for the rest of the year—late checkout, maybe better room, various incremental perks. If you are a Diamond member, you can significantly turbocharge your points earnings for stays before the end of the year, which could translate into future free nights or redemptions.
Bottomline
This is a solid move by Wyndham and one worth taking advantage of—especially if you already have (or can easily book) a stay before year-end. The upgrade for non-elite members is low-hanging fruit: claim it, and if you use one stay, you might get decent value. For Diamond members, the 5× multiplier is potentially very juicy—but you need to act.
What do you think? Are you heading to a Wyndham brand hotel during the holidays then?
