With Vistara starting to receive more of their 787 aircraft (they already have 4 of their 6 ordered and one leased in the fleet), everyone wondered where they would be flying to. Vistara will be launching a new flight in November 2023.

Vistara is all set to launch Mumbai – Frankfurt flights.

Vistara has been using the 787-9 aircraft they started to induct in 2020 to fly into Europe. The airline currently offers the following flights with the Boeing 787-9 aircraft:

• Delhi to London and return
• Delhi to Frankfurt and return (with a leased equipment)
• Delhi to Paris CDG and return
• Mumbai to London and return

Very recently, the airline received its fourth 787-9 (in its own configuration), but simultaneously, it also sent away one of its aircraft for a C-Check. However, we now know that Vistara will fly from Mumbai to Frankfurt on the 787-9 six times a week effective November 15, 2023. This new route is in addition to Vistara’s 6x weekly service between Delhi and Frankfurt.

Mr. Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer of Vistara, said,

We are delighted to expand our international network with the launch of this new service between Mumbai and Frankfurt. Our long-haul routes, connecting Delhi with London Heathrow, Paris and Frankfurt have been very popular amongst our customers which gave us the confidence to offer similar connections from Mumbai as well. This will be our second long-haul route from Mumbai, in addition to 5x weekly flights to London Heathrow, and we hope that our customers will appreciate having the option of flying with India’s best airline on this sector.

Over the past couple of years, we have launched several new international routes from Mumbai, especially to the Middle East. This aligns perfectly with our strategy to position Mumbai as a vital hub for international travel.

Bottomline

Vistara will launch a new 787-9 operated flight between Mumbai and Frankfurt, which will operate all days except Monday on the route. Vistara already connects Delhi/Mumbai with London Heathrow and Delhi with Frankfurt and Paris, so now Mumbai will get a second flight into Europe on most days as well. The flight launches on November 15, 2023.
