Vistara launching flights between Delhi and Hong Kong on October 29, 2023

Vistara has been talking about new destinations for a while. However, they needed the equipment to fly these routes (unless they wanted to fly their long-haul Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which would not be the perfect instrument for many routes).

Vistara took delivery of their first A321neo LR in February 2023 (and since then has added four more). With an increased maximum take-off weight of 97 tonnes and the third auxiliary centre fuel tank, the A321LR enables Vistara to cover a more extended range of up to 4000NM.

Vistara will fly between Delhi and Hong Kong with the A321 equipment.

Vistara has announced daily flights between Delhi and Hong Kong starting 29 October 2023 (at the start of the Northern Winter Schedule). Vistara will be using the A321neo aircraft and become the fourth airline to enter the route, after Air India, Cathay Pacific and IndiGo, which is also returning to the route.

The 6:20-hour block time flight timings indicate this will most likely work as an origin and destination route rather than accumulate passengers from other Vistara destinations who will connect on this flight. However, the flight arrives in at the perfect time to get a head start on your work day in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is also a financial destination for, apart from the tourism industry some from Delhi.

Vistara’s A21neo lie-flat Business Class

Mr Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, said,

We are delighted to add Hong Kong to our fast-growing global network. Hong Kong is one of the world’s most premier financial and commercial hubs that continues to draw significant corporate traffic from India. It has also been a very popular destination for Indian tourists. With the addition of Hong Kong, we are now able to offer our customers direct connectivity to and from three of the world’s top financial centres, the others being London and Singapore.

Tickets are now available for sale on Vistara’s website and other websites such as MakeMyTrip.

Bottomline

Vistara is venturing into new territory with the launch of their flight between Delhi and Hong Kong. Until now, Air India and Cathay Pacific operated flights on this route, and IndiGo will also return to operating flights on the route in October. Vistara will launch daily flights between Delhi and Hong Kong on October 29, 2023.

What do you think of Vistara’s new service to Hong Kong?

  1. Great news, I hope they realise frequent flyers importance and increase award availability. Also connectivity from Bangalore is weak, I hope they focus more.
