Vistara’s International flights are just about three months old, and the airline is trying to expand as much as they can with their current aircraft. They launched the Delhi – Singapore and Mumbai – Singapore flights in August 2019 with ex-Jet Airways 737 Aircraft, because their A320 fleet could not fly that far with the full load. Then, Vistara launched Delhi – Bangkok and Mumbai – Dubai on their existing A320 aircraft. After that, we did not hear much from the airline for a while.
Vistara has now started to receive new aircraft from Airbus, with their first couple of A320Neos from their second order having just arrived in Delhi (VT-TNP/TNQ). With this, their expansion starts again. Apart from various domestic routes that are going to start with the new winter schedule, the airline is now going to launch a new flight to Sri Lanka as well in November 2019. As per an announcement from the airline, a Mumbai – Colombo route is now open for sale.
Colombo was supposed to be the first destination for Vistara and now has turned into the fourth, but the good news is it has been commissioned. The flight will be operated by the A320 aircraft at the following times six times a week.
UK131 BOM1100 – 1325CMB A320 x3
UK132 CMB1425 – 1700BOM A320 x3
This means that Mumbai – Colombo will get a premium economy as well. From a tourist perspective, this is the perfect time to arrive and depart from Colombo, given that this aligns with the check-in/check-out times of hotels, so you don’t have to hang around.
Singapore gets A320Neo service
The other good news with the new aircraft coming in is that Vistara will now have A320Neo aircraft which have enough MTOW to fly to Singapore. So, as of November 30, 2019, the airline will also switch from the 737-800 aircraft to the A320Neo. This means Premium Economy will now also be available on Singapore going forward, about one month from today.
UK115 DEL2345 – 0810+1SIN 320 D
UK116 SIN0930 – 1315DEL 320 D
Mumbai – Singapore effective November 30, 2019, A320 replaces 737-800, 1 daily
UK105 BOM2355 – 0810+1SIN 320 D
UK106 SIN1030 – 1415BOM 320 D
I’ve reviewed the Business Class and Economy Class service on the Delhi-Singapore and Singapore-Mumbai route earlier.
