With Vistara starting to receive more of their 787 aircraft (they already have 5 of their six ordered and one leased in the fleet), everyone wondered where they would be flying to. Vistara is all set to launch Mumbai – Paris flights.

Vistara has been using the 787-9 aircraft they started to induct in 2020 to fly into Europe. The airline currently offers the following flights with the Boeing 787-9 aircraft:

Now, with one more 787-9 expected to be delivered, Vistara is also announcing what could be the last route for them to add to their network with the 787-9 aircraft. The last route will be Mumbai – Paris CDG, which has been awaiting an announcement for a long time.

Today, Vistara announced direct 5x weekly flights between Mumbai and Paris, launching on March 28, 2024. This new long-haul route is in addition to Vistara’s 5x weekly service between Delhi and Paris, which has been operated since November 2021. The schedule of the Mumbai – Paris CDG flight is as follows.

a schedule of days of operation

Mr. Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer of Vistara, said,

Recognised as one of the world’s top destinations for tourism while also being a major hub for business, fashion, culture and commerce, Paris holds significant importance for us. We are delighted to announce direct connectivity between Mumbai and Paris, our sixth route to Europe. The addition of this much-awaited connection is in line with our strategy to position Mumbai as a vital hub for international travel. This also underscores our commitment to offering a multitude of travel options to our customers while choosing to fly the country’s most loved airline.

Bottomline

Vistara will launch a new 787-9 operated flight between Mumbai and Paris CDG, which will operate five days a week. Vistara already connects Delhi/Mumbai with London Heathrow and Frankfurt, and Delhi with Paris, so now Mumbai will get a third flight into Europe on most days as well. The flight launches on March 28, 2024.

  1. Will the 7th (last) b787 aircraft expected in next months be used as stand-by then?
Or there is a chance for another long route from Bom/del/blr with the same.
