Virgin Atlantic offering 40% off on mileage tickets. Redeem through June 24, 2024

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is one of the better frequent flyer programmes, with great redemption opportunities. You can redeem Virgin points for travel on Virgin Atlantic (including Upper Class), but other fantastic opportunities exist, such as those on Delta and All Nippon Airlines. Additionally, Virgin Atlantic is now part of the SkyTeam alliance.

Virgin Atlantic is offering a 40% flat discount on miles required through the end of 2024

Virgin Atlantic is currently offering an excellent sale for reward flights at a flat 40% discount when you book tickets using Virgin Atlantic Flying Club points. The 40% discount applies to Economy, Premium, and Upper-Class seats on Virgin-operated flights to the UK as well as connecting flights across the globe.

To use the promotional offer, you’ll need to book tickets by June 24, 2024 (23:59 GMT) and travel by December 31, 2024. (The dates are available through May 31, 2025, but the T&C enlist only through December 31, 2024) As long as you use only Virgin Atlantic airlines redeemed with Virgin’s points, you get the discount even if it is a one-stop. The discount applies to all cabins and both peak and off-peak seasons. It will already be priced in when you search for award availability.

This offer is valid for Virgin Atlantic reward flights, upgrades, and companion bookings for one-way or return flights in Economy, Premium, and Upper Class. The discount is not valid on Gold Reward flights (reward flights booked with double points) or Points Plus Money bookings.

Here are some instances of flights which are available at a discount. For instance, an Economy class redemption, Delhi – London or London – Delhi, is available at 6,000 + 100 GBP (11000 INR) one way when in the off-peak season. a screenshot of a calendarHere are some of the routes from India where you can get a great deal on redemptions:

Virgin Atlantic flies to the following US airports: Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa, and Washington, D.C. If you are starting your journey in India, you can look at booking from Delhi / Mumbai and the flight from Bengaluru, which will launch at the end of March 2024.

Virgin Atlantic is known to charge a high amount for carrier-imposed surcharges and taxes. Unfortunately, the cash component won’t be reduced; only the number of points will be reduced by 40%. You can reduce the charges slightly by booking two one-way flights instead of a two-way flight.

If you are looking to get some points over to Virgin Atlantic from India, there are limited options:

Existing bookings changed within the promotional booking period will be eligible for this offer and any reduction in the points price will be credited back to the member’s account. Changes are subject to the usual change fees and any increase in taxes, fees, and carrier-imposed surcharges.

Bookings made within the promotional booking period which are then subsequently changed outside of the promotional booking period detailed within this offer, will no longer be eligible for this offer and will be charged the difference in points plus any applicable fees, and additional taxes, fees, and carrier-imposed surcharges at the time of making the change.

Bottomline

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club has an excellent sale ongoing on award redemptions, as you can get a 40% discount on the number of points required for award tickets for travel to and from the United States or the United Kingdom. This is a good deal since you get 40% off when you book rather than a refund later. Also, Virgin Atlantic has excellent hard and soft products, and it could make it worthwhile to consider them for a booking if you plan to travel to or from the US / UK over the next three months or so.

Do you plan on taking advantage of Virgin Atlantic’s redemption sale?
