There has been great confusion about various airlines flying passengers to and from India, given the borders of India continue to be closed, at least till July 31, and subject to a further extension of the border closure.
Earlier on, I wrote about United flying in empty planes to India to fly out passengers from Delhi to Newark and San Francisco on various flights. Now, it seems United has also gotten permission to operate some flights where they will be able to bring Indian nationals and OCI Cardholders in specific situations to fly to India as well.
United has confirmed that they will allow Indians/OCIs to fly from Newark to Delhi on flights from July 23-28, 2020.
Also, please know, on Friday night and Saturday morning the flights will become available for sale for transportation from EWR to DEL on travel dates July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28. Please DM us if you have any additional questions or concerns. We are happy to assist. (2/2) ^EZ

This is not just a Twitter message but has been confirmed with someone else in the company as well. What is not clear is when do the flights go on sale, as in July 17, 2020, India evening or USA evening. So, if you would like to fly United to Delhi, and tag on a Vistara sector to fly inside the country, you should be ready to book these repatriation flights from the USA in the next 24 hours, subject to fulfilling the necessary conditions to arrive into India.
You should be able to book the flights on United.com as well as on other travel agents once it goes up on the GDS.

Good work Ajay providing all these important updates during these trying times. I don’t believe there are any good collated sources like this for Indians.
