Travel to Dubai from India requires a 48-hour old CoVid-19 negative report

Dubai, which has been one of the few places Indians have been welcome liberally during the pandemic, has started to modify the rules for accessing the city from India in the coming days, given the pandemic is blowing up in India.

You need to be aware of some new rules if you are flying from India to Dubai effective April 22, 2021, onwards.

  • You need to present a valid CoVid-19 negative report where the sample collection is no older than 48 hours from scheduled departure. The earlier ask was of a 72-hours old sample at the most. The certificate must indicate a Negative test result issued from an ICMR certified lab.
  • Children below the age of 12 years are exempt from the requirement to present an RT-PCR report.
  • The report presented should have a live QR code, which can be authenticated by the airline as well as the Dubai Health Authority.

This is the update from the Emirates’ website.

Remember, even after this, there will be an on-arrival test made and a quarantine before you will be able to access Dubai freely.

Bottomline

If you are planning to travel to Dubai from India, remember, the updated sample collection timeline is to have a test for a sample collected no more than 48 hours before departure, which the health authorities and the airline can live verify.

What do you make of the new requirements for travel to Dubai from India?
