The hidden benefit of Accor Plus: Flexible Deep Discounted Hotel Rates

LiveFromALounge.com has been runnning a special promotional offer with Accor Plus, Accor hotels’ membership programme in the Asia Pacific, where members of this programme can get up to 50% discount on dining at a participating Accor hotel. I’ve been a member for over a year, and I just renewed my membership for another year.

Key benefits of Accor Plus

The most significant day-to-day use case of the Accor Plus membership is the dining discount. Accor Plus offers a discount at over 1,400 restaurants in over 20 countries, and you can get a meal at half the price if you are dining in a pair, apart from a 15% discount on drinks. The concept is that the Accor Plus member dines for free as long as they are accompanied by a minimum of 1 guest. Not just that, various vouchers come along, which can be used on a limited basis. These include:

  • 40% Off Group Dining Certificate (up to 10 members)
  • INR 500 Discount on Food & Beverages
  • Complimentary Buffet Lunch for two people
  • Free Dessert Certificate
  • Complimentary Birthday Cake

Not just this, Accor has integrated this programme very well into the hotels of the group, and you can get a 1-time discount stay at various hotels as well such as Pullman Delhi, Novotel Mumbai and Sofitel Mumbai. Depending on the region where you sign up for the programme, or where you base your membership on.

Here is the Summary of Benefits for MumbaiDelhi, Goa, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Chennai, Gujarat, Guwahati, Kolkata and Lucknow. Besides, Accor Plus Explorer Membership also provides one free night which can be utilised at properties across the network.

The following Accor hotel brands participate in the Accor Plus program: Banyan Tree, Sofitel Legend, Fairmont, SO/Sofitel, Sofitel, MGallery, Art Series, Mondrian, Pullman, Swissôtel, Angsana, Grand Mercure, Quay West, Peppers, The Sebel, Mantra, Cassia, Novotel, Mercure, BreakFree, Ibis, Ibis Styles and Ibis Budget.

Accor Plus benefits can be enjoyed at participating Accor Hotels in the following destinations: Australia, Cambodia, China, Fiji, French Polynesia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

And while Accor Plus already upgrades you to Accor ALL Silver, this year, with just one stay, you can head to Accor Gold, and from there, Accor Platinum as well with the Accor FAST TRACK for 2022 for Accor Plus Members.

Through the rest of the month, if you sign up via our special tie-up, you also get a bonus Lunch for two, which can be up to INR 7,000 and is useful at any participating Accor restaurant in India.

Flexible Terms and best prices, compared to Accor’s regular fares

Now, apart from the above benefits, which I have about 355 days to use at the moment, there are some apparent benefits that I did not know of before, and I just discovered for the first time myself. For an upcoming trip, my usual hotels were all choc-a-block full, so I had to look up a new one. And that is where I discovered a benefit I think I have not adequately appreciated before.

So, Accor has been offering a long-standing promotion since October 2021, called the Holiday Offer for their hotels in India and Sri Lanka, valid for stays through April 30, 2022. The promotion is simple. The offer is available at participating hotel brands in India and Sri Lanka: Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Mövenpick, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, ibis and ibis styles. The stay needs to be of a minimum of two nights and booked on All.Accor.com.

Now, I wanted to head back to a hotel I checked out during the opening a few months back. And I discovered two different T&C for those who were booking via Accor.com, or have Accor Plus. Check out the rate comparison for a regular booker and an Accor Plus member. As an Accor Plus member, I got a significantly better rate compared to not being one. In fact, it is 50% of the membership fee for the year coming back to me in just one go.

And not just that, the terms are much much better. As you can see, Accor Plus members are getting the flexibility of paying later, and cancelling on the day of arrival, which is not the same as the more restrictive terms being offered to other members.

  • Non-members get a 15% off the public room rate
  • ALL members get a 25% off the public room rate
  • Accor Plus Members get a 35% off the public room rate

If you are someone who uses Accor hotels regularly or intends to switch into the Accor ecosystem, you should look at this package. Especially now, since using this exclusive link, you also get a free lunch buffet for two, which is easily worth INR 6,000, making it even easier to recover the cost of the Accor Plus Membership.

While I’m not saying I know everything about each promotion coming up, Accor typically tends to have long term promotions, not two-week kinds, but more like a few months at a go, and many are discount based. So, that is something I appreciate about their programme.

Bottomline

Not only is Accor Plus offering the benefits on dining, and free room night certificates included, they are also adding on these great discounts for the times you want to stay at an Accor hotel. And through the next weeks, if you sign up via our exclusive partnership, you also get an additional meal for two tied into your package.

What has been your best use case for Accor Plus?

  2. Hi Ajay,

Can I please request you to check if this exclusive pricing works at Novotel Visakhapatnam(May 22-27) ? If this works, it would be a great idea for me to sign up.

  3. If you are a traveling lover then accor plus has many offers for you. They provide deep discounts on hotel rates and other assets.

  4. TBH I have not received any benefit from being Accor member. Even the complementary night is not worth it since it is mostly applicable to low-end hotels unless one plans their travel much in advance.
    Am I missing something?

    • @Vishal, I can’t answer the question for you. Last time around, we used our vouchers at Sofitel where the average rates were about 8K a night, and between the freebies and other stuff (we did not go out as much as we usually would), we did cash out at about 25K of value saved.
