SPG’s new promotion offers 2x points till July 2014
Starwood launched their new promotion for the summer months of May through July 2014, and it is the regular 2x points per stay promotion they do many times over the past years. This time around, it is called the Earn Away Get Away, and earns you 2x points on all eligible stays (excluding Award nights and Cash+Points), and 3x points if your stay includes a Sunday as well. If you’re in the Middle East, Saturday counts instead of Sunday for the 3x points. Get hitched at a Starwood hotel in India/APAC, get upto 150K SPG points
Starwood released a promotion earlier this month targeting couples who are getting married, offering them 3 points per US$ spent up to 150,000 SPG points for booking their wedding celebrations at a participating Starwood property by July 1, 2014 and getting hitched before March 31, 2015. Promotion is valid across the Asia Pacific, with few hotels as exceptions. In India, all Starwood properties apart from ITC Mughal, ITC Kakatiya, Le Meredien New Delhi, The Westin Gurgaon and The Westin Sohna Resort & Spa are excluded. Starwood offering unlimited bonus points for referrals via LinkedIn
Starwood just put out an promotion where they are offering a 1000 SPG points for new signups to the Starwood Preferred Guest program referred by an existing SPG member. The existing members will have to sign up for the promotion here, and then send out references to people they know via LinkedIn. SPG & Club Carlson award stays to become cheaper in India
The recent changes announced by Club Carlson, followed by the annual readjustment by SPG, seemed to be beneficial for Indian audiences while some of the most luxurious properties around the world went up in award pricing. Club Carlson is readjusting 21 properties in India out of a total of 60 properties, and 20 are going south for awards. These changes go in effect for award reservations made after March 15, 2014. SPG as well is bringing down the award prices on 21 of their properties in India, a lot of them being the Luxury Collection hotels, which are actually signature ITC Hotels. Starwood Preferred Guest recently announced their Take 2 promotion, which will run between October 1, 2013 and December 15, 2013. You will earn double Starpoints for your stays at participating hotels during this period, and an additional 2,500 Starpoints for every 5 nights you stay. You can get this additional bonus for a maximum of 10,000 Starpoints during the promotion. Hilton may lose 4 properties in Delhi soon, SPG one in Udaipur
As per the DNA, it seems Hilton Worldwide’s partnership with Eros Resorts & Hotels Limited in Delhi will be ending in the next couple of months. This may be a speculation at the moment, however, most of these speculations somehow have a way of coming true.
