British Airways and Qatar Airways launched a combined co-branded credit card in India in July 2023. IndusInd Bank has issued the card all along, but it hasn’t done massive numbers yet. So, first step: IndusInd Bank and Avios Co cut down the membership fee on the card and also reduced the perks. That might have worked, but I know of more people cancelling the card than keeping it. Maybe they were only after the first-year rewards. Now, there is an opportunity to score a massive reward for the first year.

Get 40,000 Avios instead of the usual 20,000 Avios by signing up for the IndusInd Bank Avios Visa Infinite credit card.

IndusInd Bank offers the Avios co-brand card, which you can sign up for by linking your Qatar Airways Privilege Club Account or your British Airways Executive Club account to the card. You can only pick one, and the product changes accordingly.

The features on the card are suitable for an INR 10,000 signup fee card. Here are some of the essential features.

Earning Rewards (Avios Points)

• Welcome bonus: 20,000 Avios when you join your chosen airline programme (either Qatar Airways Privilege Club orBritish Airways Executive Club) after payment of joining fees. 
• You can earn accelerated Avios (e.g., around 6 Avios per INR 200 spent at your chosen international destination), depending on your preferred destination setting. 
• Additional Avios are credited for various milestone spending targets (e.g., up to 36,000 bonus Avios annually based on total spending). 
  • 18,000 Avios on spending INR 8,00,000 in a membership year
  • 18,000 Avios on spending the next INR 8,00,000 in the same membership year.
• On regular domestic or international spends outside bonus categories, you’ll still earn 3 Avios/INR 200 spent.
• Some routine spend categories, such as utilities, government transactions, and insurance, earn at a lower Avios rate.

Foreign Exchange

• Discounted forex markup fee (e.g., ~1.5%) on transactions at your preferred international destination; higher markup applies elsewhere. 

The card usually costs INR 10,000++ for the first year and INR 5,000++ for subsequent years. For the first year, the card offers 20,000 Avios. However, there is a special promotion now on the Qatar Airways-linked cards.

Now, Qatar Airways is offering a special promotion via Avios Co., doubling the sign-up reward from 20,000 Avios to 40,000 Avios for the card for applications made and approved between January 1 and 31, 2026. You need to spend INR 5,000 on the card within 30 days of approval to receive the bonus. The Bonus 20,000 Avios will be credited by April 15, 2026.

The offer is only applicable to new customers who apply for the card and have the card successfully issued by the bank during the campaign period. This campaign is open to all Qatar Airways-linked IndusInd Bank Avios Visa Infinite co-branded cardholders who are also Privilege Club Members, but not to British Airways Executive Club version cardholders. You can always sync the points to the British Airways Executive Club later if you so want.  Overall, it works out to 40,000 Avios for INR 0.25++ per Avios.
