Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer is one of the most important loyalty programmes of our times, given that from an Indian and South East Asian perspective, it is one of the most premium products that are around, and also, one of the most user-friendly loyalty programmes, which has still not gone into the whole removal of award charts and make it dynamic zone. And now, some real enhancements are coming for Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. This is after KrisFlyer introduced zonewise redemptions for Scoot earlier this month.
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer to be enhanced on September 1, 2025.
According to a new announcement by Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, Singapore Airlines will introduce additional ways to earn elite miles and PPS Club Credits.

So far, PPS Club members could only earn PPS Value from flights on Singapore Airlines’ Suites/First and Business Class. In contrast, KrisFlyer members can only earn Elite miles on flights operated by Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Star Alliance, and selected partner airlines. From September 1 onwards, your everyday spend with the Singapore Airlines Group non-flight entities will help count towards your PPS Club or KrisFlyer Elite tier status upgrade or status renewal.
PPS Club members will earn 1 PPS Value for every SGD 3 spent on Kris+ shopping and dining in Singapore and Australia, as well as on KrisShop purchases and Pelago experiences bookings. The cap is 2500 for PPS Value.

KrisFlyer members earn 1 Elite mile for each SGD 1 spent on Kris+ shopping and dining in Singapore and Australia, KrisShop purchases, and Pelago experiences bookings. KrisFlyer Silver Tier members can earn up to 5,000 miles annually, while Gold Tier Members can earn up to 10,000 miles annually using this new route.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer to introduce dynamic redemptions in November 2025.
Singapore Airlines will also launch a new dynamic redemption module called Access. With Access redemption, you will have an added option to use your KrisFlyer miles to pay and secure confirmed Singapore Airlines flight tickets immediately on your preferred flights, as long as there are available seats. The number of miles required for seat confirmation varies based on seat demand and may fluctuate throughout the year.
Seats available for Access redemption are in addition to the seats available for award flights. With the new Access redemption option, you can use your miles to secure available seats on your preferred flights, even if award seats are fully redeemed. Stopovers will be allowed. Here are the prominent terms and conditions associated with the Access redemption.

Redemptions to undergo minor inflation in November 2025
KrisFlyer will be updating the miles redemption and upgrade award charts across Singapore Airlines, Star Alliance, and partner airlines for flights ticketed on or after November 1, 2025.
Members will benefit from a 5% reduction in Economy Saver award redemption rates for flights within Asia and the Southwest Pacific (Zones 1 to 9). Business and First/Suites Saver award redemption rates for Zones 1 to 9 will increase by 5%.
Saver award rates will increase by 5% across all cabin classes for flights to and from Europe and the United States of America (Zones 11 to 13). For flights to and from Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey (Zone 10), rates will rise by 10 to 20%.
Advantage award rates across all zones and cabin classes, except Zone 10, will increase by 10-15%. For Zone 10, the Economy Advantage rates will increase by 5%, the Business Advantage rates by 18%, and the First Advantage rates by 15%.
All redemption bookings confirmed and ticketed on or before October 31, 2025, will be based on current award rates.

Singapore Airlines Suites Class
Let’s take some examples:
- For Zone 1 Redemptions, which is Singapore to Malaysia, the 8.5K one-way rate goes down to 8K (Economy saver inventory)
- For Zone 6 Redemptions, which is Singapore to South Asia (incl. India), the 20K miles one-way redemption goes down to 19K (Economy saver inventory)
- For Zone 13 Redemptions, which spans from Singapore to the US East Coast, the one-way redemption distance increases from 44,000 miles to 46,000 miles. (Economy Saver Inventory)
Business Saver award rates are suffering an increase ranging from 5% to 20%, depending on the zone. The redemption from India to Singapore for Business Saver will increase from 43,000 to 45,000 miles. The redemption from Singapore to the US East Coast will go up from 111,500 miles to 117,000 miles. Similarly, a 5% uptick in India to the Singapore First Class/Suites redemption. It goes up from 58.5K Miles to 61.5K Miles.
Advantage award rates are increasing across the board in this change, though. Here are the 2023 and 2025 award charts. The First Class redemption moves from 98K to a whopping 112.5K on Advantage redemptions, which is 15% up.
Why do I refer to this as minor inflation? Because wherever Saver inventory is being discussed, it involves a modest 5% price adjustment, which is simply keeping up with the times.
Even Partner and Star Alliance Redemptions will go up in price.
Here is the Star Alliance Redemption Chart as it currently exists, and here is the one for November 2025 and beyond. A Star Alliance redemption from India to North America increases from 121,000 to 128,000 miles in Economy. There are numerous such cases.
Counter the changes, now
If you don’t intend to pay for these modest changes in the coming times, you should lock in your redemptions by October 31, 2025. That way, you’ll still benefit from the existing rates. The notice of approximately 10 weeks is quite generous in my opinion, and Singapore Airlines’ inventory is open for up to 355 days in advance. Which means you can book for October 2026 at the edge of this redemption change.
If you need to make changes to your redemption ticket later, except for date changes, you will unfortunately have to pay the additional miles in this case. That’s a shame, and it means you’ll want to have relatively specific travel plans, which can be challenging to arrange a year in advance. It also means that if you hold an award redemption ticket now (even one issued in 2024) and make changes on or after November 1, 2025, you will be asked to pay for any applicable miles difference.
Bottomline
Singapore Airlines hasn’t increased mileage redemption rates since 2022, so a minor adjustment keeping up with the times is now upon us. Economy Class Saver awards are reducing in cost, while the increases for many award zones are primarily 5-10%. You can lock in redemptions up to 355 days in advance at the current rates, provided you book by October 31, 2025, at the latest.
What do you think of the upcoming changes to Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer programme? Happy or sad?
