Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer offering a Global Redemption Sale with 20% off on mileage redemption

If you collect KrisFlyer miles, Singapore Airlines just dropped something for you. Their Global Redemption Sale is live, which means you can snag saver award tickets using fewer miles than usual.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Global Redemption Sale: What’s On Offer

KrisFlyer’s Global Redemption Sale, from September 9-21, 2025, is offering a 20% off Saver award tickets to selected Singapore Airlines destinations on Economy Class, and selected Singapore Airlines destinations on Premium Economy Class between Singapore and the USA.

The image features a stylized globe with famous landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the Taj Mahal. A Singapore Airlines plane is flying in the sky above the globe. The background is a bright blue sky with clouds.

The travel booked during the promotional sale is valid for travel from November 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026. Blackout dates apply from November 20, 2025, to January 11, 2026, for all flights and destinations listed in the tables below.

  • Booking Period: 9 to 21 September 2025 (both dates inclusive).
  • Travel Period: November 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026 for all eligible destinations.
  • Discount: 20% off Saver award tickets in Economy for selected Singapore Airlines destinations; Premium Economy gets the same discount but only for selected routes between Singapore and United States.
  • Where it doesn’t apply: Some destinations are excluded, e.g. Auckland, Cape Town, Cebu, Chong Qing, Danang, Melbourne, Penang, Sapporo.

Also, you are unable to change or cancel these tickets once booking is made. So make sure your dates are firm. You might want to prioritise long, expensive flights for redemptions under this promotion. If you had your eye on a pricey long haul, the miles savings + surcharges avoidance will be most valuable there.

When Is the Deal Best Value

Here are heuristics for when this promo delivers maximum bang for your KrisFlyer miles — my nerdy take:

  • Long-haul economy flights (say Europe ↔ Asia or Singapore): high base miles means the 20% off translates into substantial savings. If you were already thinking of those, the deal amplifies the value.
  • Shorter regional economy flights: while miles saved are smaller, the low fees and certainty make them low risk. If you have small-trips or stopovers in Asia, those are “safe bets.”
  • Premium Economy on long haul only if you care about comfort and the fee gap vs a deep cash sale isn’t absurd. Because the fees + taxes tend to creep up for long haul, so sometimes you’re trading fewer miles + more cash vs flying cheaper with money.
  • Travel dates outside the blackout period (20 Nov-11 Jan) deliver much more value. If your travel window is flexible and avoids that holiday peak, you get better deals.

Bottomline

For those with KrisFlyer balances, this is a legitimate chance to stretch your miles further. It won’t be perfect for everyone (the no‐changes rule and blackout windows sting), but if your schedule is firm, you could lock in some excellent deals in Economy and Premium Economy Cabins at 20% off. If I had to pick one scenario where this really makes sense: a trip from Europe or Asia in off‐peak spring to Southeast Asia or East Asia, flying Economy Saver. Or upgrading comfort on a long haul to/from the US via Premium Economy because of the 20% off.
