On the lines of most hotel chains such as Hyatt and Marriott, which have halved requalification requirements, smaller luxury chains are now entering the ring to drum up business as some places open up for travel or people get vaccinated and travel again. Shangri-La Hotels is one such chain which has joined the momentum.

Shangri-La Double Nights Promotion

Shangri-La Hotels’ Golden Circle programme has launched a double nights promotion, which grants you double tier nights for stays at Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders hotels worldwide for stays between May 1 and July 31, 2021.

With this promotion, you don’t need to register. As long your stay dates fall between May 1 and July 31, 2021, you receive Double Tier Nights. Qualifying for Golden Circle Jade and Diamond usually requires 20 nights and 50 nights respectively, so you can qualify by staying for 10 and 25 nights respectively during the period. Take note, however, OTA bookings, long-stay rates and redemption nights won’t count. However, if you choose to book with an agent such as ClassicTravel, you will get perks for the special rates they get, and also have your nights counted for this promotion as double nights.

Remember, when you book Shangri-La hotels via a luxury travel advisor such as ClassicTravel, you get an upgrade to the next room type at the time of booking, daily breakfast for two guests per room, and at many properties a USD 100 property credit or a special amenity as well. For instance, both the Shangri-La properties in India, Bangalore and Delhi, provide a property amenity.

American Express and Shangri-La recently parted ways, so this might be an easy way for those who hold an Amex to requalify when necessary for Jade/Diamond status.

Bottomline

Shangri-La Hotels is offering a path to get status with half the number of nights with a new double nights promotion valid till July 31, 2021. However, if you are into one-night stays, this equates with the number of stays you need to do for status. You don’t need to register for this promotion as everyone staying between May 1 and July 31, 2021, will get double tier nights.
