In 2019, it was predicted that every company would be a fintech company. Fast forward to today, this trend is truer than ever — especially when it comes to credit services. Almost everyone seems to be building a lending flow into their product.
Even when it comes to travel, recent studies have shown that Indians are taking loans to make holidays happen. Visit any travel platform, and you will see tons of offers: Want a holiday? You can buy it on EMI. Booking flights? Buy now, pay later. Headed to Paris? Get great offers on your credit card.
So how do you win in a market where discounts and credit offerings are (seemingly) flexible, yet the travel planning process remains tedious and fragmented?
The approach should then be to make travel both accessible and seamless, with a single platform for all your travel needs. No long checklists, no endless shopping lists – just smooth travel with great benefits.
That’s what Scapia did. The company offers a travel-centric credit card product that serves as your gateway to travel commerce (like purchasing tickets, booking hotels, planning and booking unique tours/experiences, shopping for your trip, applying for visas, and more), letting you accumulate rewards along the way. These rewards can be redeemed for travel on the app. The Scapia team has created a seamless product that works, both when you’re planning your trip and when you hit the road.

Not just that, some of Scapia’s standout features include Airport Privileges across 100+ domestic airports, allowing you to depart from an Indian airport and skip the long queues at airport lounges (You have to spend INR 10,000 per month on the Visa Card, or INR 15,000 on the RuPay version to unlock Airport Privileges). Scapia will give you points equivalent to your spend (up to INR 1,000, depending on the airport), which can be used to either eat or shop at the airport. But it’s not just limited to restaurants and shopping – you can maybe even treat yourself to a luxurious spa day before takeoff!
Another interesting feature is the one built for international travellers, where you incur no foreign exchange markup when paying with this card. Swiping this card abroad is so friction-free that I just finished a week-long trip abroad where Scapia was the card I used most of the time.
Scapia’s Winter Release has now enhanced the card, and here are some of the new ways to use the card and even some new perks.

Add-on Cards: Share your credit line and travel privileges with family!
Add-on cards are standard in the credit card world, but offering generous perks is even better. Scapia has enabled the option to add an add-on card for family members, with all the perks available on the main card. You can also get an add-on card for your spouse, children, parents, siblings, and in-laws – allowing them to use your credit line. This will let you settle one bill and deposit funds into one account.
The standout feature here is that your add-on cardholders will enjoy the same privileges as the main card, including Airport Privileges. That’s not all – add-on card members get access to the app, get their own OTPs, and more! So, let’s say your spouse is travelling alone and does not want to go to the lounge because of the early morning queues. They can use their own app to avail of airport privileges and get breakfast at an airport cafe before takeoff (subject to having unlocked Airport Privileges for the month). And if they are heading abroad, they can swipe on your Scapia and benefit from the 0% Forex Surcharge.
Scapia Store: Get travel-ready with a curated shopping experience
Another prominent feature of the winter release is the launch of the Scapia Store. Scapia Store is India’s only travel-focused shopping experience, offering a diverse assortment of products from various brands, with free shipping, free returns, and 20% Scapia Coins when you shop – and you can even redeem your Scapia coins to get a good deal!
Think of it as a super-curated version of Amazon – but for your travel needs. You can tell the app, for instance, that you’re travelling to see the Northern Lights, and it will suggest jackets, gloves, and other cold-weather clothing that you can purchase through the app. The selection is impressive; you can buy check-in luggage, packing cubes, gloves, neck pillows, and a wide range of travel essentials.
Experiences, now on Scapia
Tickets to the Statue of Liberty or dune bashing in the UAE are all now available on the Scapia App. You can search for the experience you want to book in the app, then book and pay for it there. The catalogue is extensive, comparable to Klook and Viator, and the shopping flow is intuitive.
What stands out most is the smart filters – they don’t overwhelm you with offers, but are designed to help you make decisions with ease. Users can easily select their preferences (which differ depending on the experience you’re exploring) to make discovery easier, without the hassle of browsing a sea of options that all look the same.
All you have to do is open the app and look for what you need to display, along with all the available options. And not just that, you can even use your existing Scapia coins to pay for the experiences rather than pay cash. Your next trip to Disneyland could be free if you swipe enough and earn Scapia Coins on your transactions.

Scapia Coins: the centrepiece of the Scapia ecosystem
With Scapia Coins, earn 10 Coins for every INR 100 spent (worth INR 2) on all transactions with the Visa card, and 20 Coins for every INR 100 spent (worth INR 4) on purchases made via the Scapia app, including air tickets, hotels, experiences, and shopping. Additionally, Scapia occasionally offers promotions to help you earn even more coins on select purchases, including those made with Visa or international air tickets. All these methods are great ways to accumulate coins towards free travel. You can use these coins to pay for any Scapia product or service, in whole or in part.
Bottomline
Scapia, an already fantastic credit card for travellers, rolled out its Winter Release 2025, making users’ experience even more travel-friendly. The latest features address the real needs of travellers. For one, you can now grant add-on cards to your family members, and these add-on cards have all the same features as the primary card, including the airport privileges on offer. Second, the Scapia Store is now open, from which you can purchase the items you need for your upcoming travels (and even burn coins to pay for them). And last but not least, Scapia is now also offering experiences worldwide through its app. This means you can buy tickets to Broadway shows, dune bashing in the Middle East and then some, all at your fingertips.
