In 2023, I want to take a new approach to airline route announcements. Far too often, I’d have to ignore all those announcements because there are too many new route announcements and launches happening all the time for me to be able to put out a new post for them all the time. Here is a compilation of all the route announcements and launches for January 2023. Remember, this is on a best-effort basis and might not be exhaustive.

IndiGo
Pune (PNQ) – Dehradun(DDN) commenced on January 1, 2023
On January 1, 2023, IndiGo commenced the operation of a flight between Dehradun and Pune. The flight operates six times a week with an A320 family aircraft. The flight can be purchased on IndiGo’s website. The timetable is enclosed below. (Update on January 17, 2023).
Delhi (DEL)/ Mumbai (BOM)/ Bengaluru (BLR)/ Chennai (MAA)/ Pune (PNQ)/ Ahmedabad (AMD)/ Jaipur (JAI)/ Hyderabad (HYD) – Goa Mopa (GOX) commenced on January 5-7, 2023
Between January 5 and 7, 2023, IndiGo commenced operations from 8 stations to the new North Goa Airport in Mopa. Most flights operate daily with an A320 family aircraft. The flights can be purchased on IndiGo’s website. The timetable is enclosed below. (Update on January 17, 2023).
Kochi (COK) – Goa Dabolim (GOI) – Raipur (RPR) commenced on January 7, 2023
On January 7, 2023, IndiGo commenced the operation of a new one-hop flight between Kochi and Raipur via Goa. This flight used to be earlier operated via Mumbai. The flight operates daily with an A320 family aircraft, and you can purchase Kochi – Goa, Goa – Raipur or Kochi – Raipur. The flight can be bought on IndiGo’s website. Kolhapur (KLH) – Bengaluru (BLR) commenced on January 13, 2023
On January 13, 2023, IndiGo commenced the operation of a new exclusive flight between Kolhapur and Bengaluru. The flight operates daily with an ATR 72-600 aircraft. The flight can be purchased on IndiGo’s website. The timetable is enclosed below. (Update on January 17, 2023)
Bengaluru (BLR) / Chennai (MAA) – Ahmedabad (AMD) rotation added 19-26 January 2023
Mumbai (BOM) – Rajkot (RAJ)/ Raipur (RPR) rotation added 19-26 January 2023
Kolkata (CCU) – Guwahati (GAU) – Agartala (IXA) rotation added 19-26 January 2023
Bengaluru (BLR) – Goa Mopa (GOX) rotation added 19-26 January 2023
Chennai (MAA) – Port Blair (IXZ) rotation added 24-26 January 2023
On January 18, 2023, IndiGo announced the launch of 16 Republic Day special flights, which will operate between January 19 and January 26, 2023. The additional flights will be introduced between regional destinations like Bengaluru-Ahmedabad, Chennai-Ahmedabad, Bengaluru-North Goa, Mumbai-Rajkot, Raipur-Mumbai, Kolkata-Guwahati, Guwahati-Agartala and Port Blair-Chennai. Jaipur (JAI) – Jodhpur (JDH) announced for launch on February 02, 2023
On January 16, 2023, IndiGo announced a new exclusive flight between Jaipur and Jodhpur, effective February 02, 2023. The flight will operate four days a week, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The flight will be operated by an ATR 72-600 aircraft. The flight is now available for sale on IndiGo’s website. Kolkata (CCU) – Bengaluru (BLR) adding frequencies on February 1, 2023
Chandigarh (IXC) – Goa Mopa (GOX)/Hyderabad (HYD) announced for launch on February 1, 2023
Bengaluru (BLR) – Cochin (COK) adding frequencies on February 3, 2023
Hubbali (HBX) – Pune (PNQ) announced for launch on February 5, 2023
On January 12, 2023, IndiGo announced a new exclusive flight between Hubbali and Pune, effective February 05, 2023. The airline has also added 12 new flights and additional frequencies to its winter schedule, w.e.f., February 01, 2023. IndiGo will launch a new flight between Chandigarh and North Goa and additional frequencies on the Kolkata-Bengaluru and Bengaluru-Cochin routes. The airline will resume operations on the Hyderabad – Chandigarh sector. Most of these flights will operate with the A320 family aircraft. The flight is now available for sale on IndiGo’s website. Hyderabad (HYD) – Srinagar (SXR) returns on February 17, 2023
On January 18, 2023, IndiGo announced it would resume operations on the Hyderabad – Srinagar sector four days a week. These flights will operate with the A320 family aircraft. The flight is now available for sale on IndiGo’s website. The timetable is enclosed below. (Update on January 18, 2023)

Bengaluru(BLR) / Mumbai(BOM) to Goa Mopa (GOX) operations commenced on January 11, 2023
On January 11, 2023, Akasa Air commenced operations between Bengaluru (BLR) / Mumbai (BOM) and Goa’s new Mopa airport (GOX). Two flights are being offered daily from Bengaluru / Mumbai and Goa and v.v., at the moment, except for one BOM-GOX-BOM rotation, which will be operated all days except Wednesday. All flights operate with a Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The flight can be purchased on Akasa’s website. The timetable is enclosed below. (Update on January 17, 2023).
Bengaluru(BLR) – Mumbai(BOM) rotations added on January 12, 2023
On January 12, 2023, Akasa Air added more flights between Bengaluru (BLR) and Mumbai (BOM). The airline is now flying eight flights a day between BOM-BLR and vice versa. On January 12, 2023, Akasa Air commenced operations between Bengaluru (BLR) and Lucknow (LKO). The airline is now flying daily between BOM-LKO and vice versa. Bengaluru(BLR) / Mumbai(BOM) to Goa Mopa (GOX) operations are to be started on February 14, 2023
Vistara has announced the commencement of operations between Bengaluru (BLR) / Mumbai (BOM) and Goa’s new Mopa airport (GOX). The airline will operate its three-class aircraft daily between Bengaluru and Mopa and six times a week between Mumbai and Mopa, effective February 14, 2023. All flights are to be operated with an Airbus A320neo aircraft. The flights can be purchased on Vistara’s website. The timetable is enclosed below. (Update on January 17, 2023).
