On award redemptions, obviously!
Jet Airways F suites, fitted on their Boeing 777-300 ERs only, are consistently rated as one of the finest travel product in the air, high up there with Lufthansa, Emirates and the others. In fact, Turkish and Thai Airways, who were using 9W planes on a lease built some quality soft-product around Jet’s hard product.Have a look at the promotional picture from their website below.
You can check out the website here, a trip report here, and more pictures here! Pity, when I flew them Mumbai to London a few years back, I did not save the pictures else I’d have shared some of my own pictures with you as well. But I can tell you, it was a top-notch experience runway to runway!
Now, Jet Airways has since expanded the B777 flights fitted with these suites to various sectors since launch. These suites can be found on BOM-LHR-BOM (2 times a day), DEL-LHR-DEL (once a day), BOM-HKG-BOM (daily) and BOM-BRU-BOM (3 times a week – Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
A few months back I would be displeased with the fact that it was very hard to get any redemptions on Jet Airways altogether. I must give credit to Jet Airways, that they’ve been making it easier for people to redeem tickets by giving out more seats on the plane for redemptions and cutting down domestic redemption requirements.
Now, Jet F class has been an aspirational product, and the good news is that there is a lot more visibility on the F class seats as well these days for redemptions. Jet does not publish award inventory on ExpertFlyer, so, there is no alternative except for looking up www.jetairways.com for award availibility. I see availibility of at least 1 seat on most dates in early 2013 as well. At 60K JP Miles one-way to Hong Kong (plus 8k Rs. taxes, surcharges), and 81K JP Miles one-way to London/Brussels, this is easily one of the best redemption deals on Jet Airways out there.
Jet Airways is a partner with a lot of American airlines as well, such as US and UA, though I am not very hopeful that the same inventory is open to these partners as well. However, if you have a different experience, please do post it in the comments section and I will try and check from my end as well.
Time to get down to burning some JP Miles?
