Qatar Airways launches their new QSuite

For about 3 years now, Qatar Airways has been working on the QSuite, which is their new business class suite product, something their CEO referred to as the death of first class a few years ago.

The new QSuite, which has been revealed at the ITB Berlin trade expo today, has sliding privacy doors and seats which convert into a double bed, a-la Singapore Airlines. With a 1-2-1 layout, all the middle seats which are joined together can potentially become a double bed. These seats will be first installed on the A350-1000 which will be launched with Qatar Airways as the launch customer. Over a period of time, this will also be rolled out to the B777 fleet of the airline, which currently runs a 2-2-2 configuration.

Qatar chooses to use the brand identity as “First in Business”. Here is a picture of the new configuration.

Here is a video that Qatar Airways just released.

Also a 360 Degree view of the whole cabin.

Knowing the track record of Qatar Airways’ CEO for perfection, I’m just wondering if they would be out this year or the next or the year after. But they sure do look good on there. Can’t wait to try one for me.

Update: It turns out the whole B777 fleet will be updated by Mid 2018. The first flight will be to London Heathrow, and after that Paris and New York are next in line to receive the new product.

What do you think of the new Business Class product of Qatar Airways? Good? Great? Wow! or just Meh?
