Plaza Premium Lounge at Delhi Terminal 3 Domestic temporarily shut

If you are a flyer bound to fly out of Delhi Terminal 3 domestically, please do not build in a lot of time for your trip out of the airport. The Delhi T3 Plaza Premium Lounge has shut down, without any notice, for the time being.

Delhi Plaza Premium Lounge is temporarily closed.

Delhi IGI Airport Terminal 3 has three lounges: the Air India Lounge, the American Express Centurion Lounge and the Plaza Premium Lounge. However, a couple of days ago, the Plaza Premium Lounge, the lounge with the most widespread access, including for Bank customers and Vistara customers, seemed to have shut down unannounced on November 12, 2022.

This move has also caused Vistara to stop offering lounge access to their passengers.

As of November 13, 2022, evening, the lounge continues to be off-limits for passengers. people on a balcony

There is no news about when the Plaza Premium Lounge is intended to open again. Still, it is being speculated that a new lounge is due to open next door, and the Plaza Premium Lounge is shut to allow for the work on the other lounge to be completed. As we had reported in July 2022, the International Pier of Delhi was supposed to get a new lounge in September/October 2022, which Encalm Hospitality will manage. This Lounge is delayed and currently scheduled to open by the end of November 2022.

The same operator is also opening up a lounge at Delhi T3 Domestic, right next to the Plaza Premium Lounge, which is also scheduled to open by the end of November 2022.

Over at the American Express Centurion Lounge, traffic has grown significantly as well, with the lounge being full most times of the day, as per many readers. So, if you are planning to be over at Delhi Terminal 3 and intend to spend some time there post-security, you should either be prepared to seat yourself without lounge access or use the Amex/Air India Lounge if you have access to them.

We’ve reached out to the communications agency for the lounge operator but still await a statement from them about what exactly transpired and when the lounge will open again. The Plaza Premium website has no information to this effect as well.

Vistara temporarily moves to Delhi Streat

With the lounge being shut, for the time being, Vistara has had to make alternate arrangements for their eligible passengers flying in Business Class or Vistara Gold/Platinum customers. Vistara is now sending them over to the eatery Dilli Streat, which is on the ground floor of Delhi T3 Domestic. Here is the menu on offer, courtesy of our reader Aniket Paul.

Bottomline

The Delhi T3 Domestic Lounge from Plaza Premium has shut down without any intimation, so there is no lounge access for most bank-based lounge visitors and even for the customers of Vistara. Plan your time at the Delhi Airport accordingly.

Do you think the Delhi Airport Plaza Premium T3 is coming back?

  1. this is really worst decision by the authorities. how can they shut the lounge when they are aware that passengers comes hv this one option only to manage their food and to take rest along.
    very disappointed

  2. Surprisingly Delhi being capital of India Airport lounges can stop operating suddenly without any alternate arrangeme

  3. I experienced this yesterday. The worst part is that you have to take an escalator to go to the first floor where the food court and the lounge is. There is no signage on the ground floor close to the escalator about the lounge being closed. I actually had to make the entire trip just to see the closure signage. Very poor planning.

    • Already done – Flew through t3 on tuesday – Vistara elite boarding passes now guide you to Dilli street restaurant on ground flow – where a host of pre defined meal/snack/dessert/beverage option are given. Would take this anyday than the drab plaza premium lounge.

  4. Door think I’ll miss it, considering how miserable and crowded this lounge has always been. Thanks for sharing though!

    • @R, all lounges where there is unfettered access for bank instruments go that way: Take BLR domestic, Plaza Premium Delhi and so on. But we cannot fault the lounges either, because it is not like they did not lose money and opportunity for two years. Adani Mumbai had the space to open up a separate airline area for the domestic lounge, but if you think about it, back in the day, the whole lounge was exclusively for airline pax and the CC pax went to TFS across the aisle.
