Marriott Kids Benefit:Free breakfast for 2 kids for all Bonvoy member stays in Asia Pacific w.e.f. February 1, 2021

Marriott Bonvoy has just made a new perk live, which will make it the darling of the leisure travellers, at least for those visiting their Asia Pacific properties. As per Marriott Bonvoy, the hotel chain will offer all members who check-in with their parents/legal guardians at one of their Asia Pacific properties, complimentary breakfast for two kids under twelve years old, when the members buy themselves breakfast, or avail of it as a part of their benefits offered by the hotels. Marriott calls this the Kids Benefit.

This new perk is live from February 1, 2021, and valid for all Marriott Bonvoy members, not just elites. Here are the details.

  • Members and all tier holders get complimentary buffet breakfast for children aged 12 or younger, upon purchase by the parent/legal guardian of a full-priced adult buffet breakfast. Where the parents enjoy a breakfast buffet covered in the room rate, kids will be able to enjoy this benefit, too.
  • For Platinum Elite, Titanium Elite and Ambassador Elite members will also be able to get their kids to breakfast in the lounge (where lounge access applies), or purchasing breakfast as an Elite welcome gift, as long as they are accompanied by the parents.
  • The Kids Benefit is applicable for no more than 2 children of the Member per room per stay.

Marriott Bonvoy members are eligible to enjoy complimentary breakfast benefits for their children when staying in properties operating in the following countries:

  • Australia
  • Bangladesh
  • Bhutan
  • Cambodia
  • China
  • Fiji
  • Guam
  • Hong Kong
  • India

  • Maldives
  • Nepal
  • New Caledonia
  • New Zealand
  • Philippines
  • Samoa
  • Singapore

Benefits are offered at the following brands:

  • The Ritz-Carlton
  • St. Regis
  • EDITION
  • The Luxury Collection
  • W Hotels
  • JW Marriott
  • Marriott Hotels
  • Sheraton
  • Delta Hotels
  • Le Méridien

  • Autograph Collection Hotels
  • Renaissance Hotels
  • Tribute Portfolio
  • Courtyard by Marriott
  • Four Points
  • Aloft

Here is the full list of properties where this benefit will be honoured, sorted by country and city.

This is such a simple yet smart move to bring new members into the fold as well. Remember, this benefit is only for in-house guests, so it is not like you can walk in just for a breakfast and get your kids to eat free.

At most hotels, at least in India, the younger ones anyways eat free, perhaps many times from the plates of their parents, but it is an excellent perk to add for places where there are different rules and culture around dining and so on.

Bottomline

Marriott Bonvoy will now offer free breakfast to the kids of members who are checked in to a Marriott property, whether they are elite or not, as long as their membership number is on file. The benefit is applicable in 25 countries, and at 17/30 brands Marriott offers without any other condition that the kids eat when the parents eat.

Parents, what do you feel about this new addition of perks for Marriott Bonvoy members when you are staying at a hotel in the Asia-Pacific?
