Marriott Bonvoy announced many new insights into the 2021 loyalty proposition, which included a new promotion towards Double Points and Double Elite nights. We now have more details about the promotion, which is scheduled to be launched for stays later in February 2021. Marriott’s last member promotion got over in November 2020.
Marriott Double Points and Double Elite Nights
Marriott has launched the new Double Points & Double Points promotion for stays of two nights or more, between February 16 and April 27, 2021. The registration link is live, and you will need to register before your first stay. You can earn double points and nights from the first stay itself. In terms of bonus points, you will earn unlimited bonus points theoretically, since there is no cap on how many points you can earn.
On a typical day, people earn 10 Bonvoy points per USD at most Marriott brands and 5 points per USD at Element, Residence Inn and Towne Place Suites. All hotels around the globe will participate and you need to book directly via Marriott.com to earn points in the promotion.
After registration, you would also earn double elite nights, which could potentially earn you status in the Marriott Bonvoy programme sooner. Here is how many elite nights are needed for status in Marriott Bonvoy in 2021:
- Silver Elite: 10 Elite Nights
- Gold Elite: 25 Elite Nights
- Platinum Elite: 50 Elite Nights
- Titanium Elite: 75 Elite Nights
- Ambassador Elite: 100 Elite Nights + USD 14,000 spend
You should ideally register right away, given it costs nothing and you might forget later. Registration closes April 13, 2021, for this promotion. For the Indian audience, remember, hotel rates are cheap at the moment, and you can find a full-service Marriott hotel in Mumbai in March 2021 for just INR 3600 plus taxes or onwards. Head out to Marriott.com and explore these cheap rates and to book.
For me, this means that 16 nights during the promotion would take me back to Titanium for another year with 75 nights total. Here is how

- 16 Double Elite Nights = 32 nights

@ Ajay , are you planning to stay 16 nights at a mariott property to claim your titanium or do a matress run at the hotel which is offerring a room at 3600+taxes in mumbai ?
as mentioned in article , can a matress run be done in mumbai ? for example , booking for 19 nights (from gold to platinum) staying 2 nights and paying for 19 and leaving without checking out , then stay 1 night at the end , check out and get platinum elite ?
Lucrative promotion, however I am unable to sign up for it till now. I couldn’t register via the link in the post, as has been the experience of several others too going by the comments. I decided to wait for the official mail from Bonvoy, which sure enough came a few days later. However even the link in the targeted mail doesn’t let me register for this promotion. Have sent Bonvoy an email, waiting for a resolution.
Double elite nights can easily take me Gold to Platinum, worth an attempt.
Can one avail these benefits if booked award stay instead of cash/card ?
Try Cash and Points option and make sure at least one of the night is paid by Cash/Card. All nights will be considered for double elite nights but only paid nights will be considered for double points. check the FAQ and this is clearly mentioned.
Can it be one night paid (likely first) and second night award certificate? I would link the reservations.

Can this be used in conjunction with the Marriott status match to Platinum currently running? Just got matched to Plat. Need to complete 15 Nights to retain plat within 90 days. With this offer do I just need to do 8 Nights? Pls advice.
