Marriott Bonvoy was conspicuously absent from the promotions arena while rolling out some targeted promotions to some accounts. However, their first global promotion is now on offer, and it has the potential to be very lucrative for those who would like to lock in on some Marriott Bonvoy nights early on in the year by earning double nights for every night stayed.
Marriott Double Elite Nights Promotion
Marriott has launched the new Double Elite Nights promotion for stays between February 7 and April 23, 2023. The registration link is live, and you will need to register before your start earning the double elite nights and bonus points. You can earn double elite nights from the first stay itself. In terms of bonus points, you will earn uncapped bonus points since there is no cap on how many points you can earn.
After registration, you would earn double elite nights, which could potentially earn you status in the Marriott Bonvoy programme sooner. Here is how many elite nights are needed for status in Marriott Bonvoy in 2023:
- Silver Elite: 10 Elite Nights
- Gold Elite: 25 Elite Nights
- Platinum Elite: 50 Elite Nights
- Titanium Elite: 75 Elite Nights
- Ambassador Elite: 100 Elite Nights + USD 23,000 spend
On a typical day, people earn 10 Bonvoy points per USD at most Marriott brands and 5 points per USD at Element, Residence Inn and Towne Place Suites. But once registration is complete, between February 7 and April 23, 2023, you will be able to get 1000 bonus points per (paid) night stayed as well. All hotels around the globe will participate, and you need to book directly via Marriott.com to earn points in the promotion.
Only eligible paid stays completed after registration and during the promotion earning period will qualify for the promotion. Award redemption stay nights, including Cash + Points Awards, Free Night Awards, or points redemption, are not eligible for the promotion.
You should register right away, given it costs nothing and you might forget later. Registration closes on April 9, 2023, for this promotion.

Can existing bookings made through Classic Travel also qualify for this promotion?
@Pd, yes
I had to change my earning settings to points get it to work. Try the following:
Go to your profile -> Settings -> Earning Settings ->Points
Try to register for the promotion after changing this.
Not targeted… 🙁
@Jason, global promotion so everyone should eventually see it on their accounts
A Note About This Promotion
We’re sorry, but there was an error in directing you to this promotion.
The reason for this error could be:
You’re trying to access a miles promotion and are a points-earner, or vice versa
You are not eligible for this promotion
This promotion has expired
@John, maybe they are rolling this out gradually. Just make sure you are logged into your account before you register pls

I like this promotion! Do I need to rebook rooms I have in the dates to the promotion now that I’ve registered?
Yes correct. Any bookings that were done before registering for this promotion would not be considered.
So if we want our bookings to be considered for this promotion, we would have to register, and then book again freshly and cancel the previous booking which was made.
@Ashish, all existing bookings will work
Oh okay..
I was not sure because under this promotion details it mentions in the Bonvoy app that: “Only eligible paid stays completed after registration and during the promotion earning period will qualify toward the promotion”.
So was wondering if this impacts existing bookings that were present before we registered or not to be eligible.
Thanks for the info Ajay.
No need to rebook, promo is applied at check out
My wife’s account works, but my account registration failed (not eligible for this promotion, maybe I have both personal and business credit cards already, i.e 30 nights)
