Oh no! 2015 is over. But I am not regretting it, just wondering that it went by a little too quickly.
2015 was a year where I took far less often to the road, and I chose to slow down willingly for a bit, in part also because I was required at so many places for taking inputs and decisions for planning an Indian wedding. But 2015 was also a year of a lot more Luxury Travel for me than usual. Figure this:
February 2015, Shipra & myself headed to the fabulous JW Marriott Mussorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa, which has some of the most down to earth staff and some of the most breathtaking views of the Himalayas. I was so totally floored by the whole experience and I am looking forward to get back sometime soon!
In April, we had a long weekend, so the entire family turned up in Goa for the weekend. We went to the Holiday Inn Goa Resort, which was my absolutely worse resort experience of the last year.
In May, we were back on the road, this time checking in to the absolutely stunning Le Meridien Mahabaleshwar Resort & Spa, which was just opening up its doors on day one! Again, their hospitality won me over!
In June, I whisked Shipra away for a one night stay to the Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur. This is a property I’ve had my heart set on for the longest time, and I was glad we could make it for a dinner there. While I haven’t written a full trip report, with the Taj brand of hospitality and the middle of the lake set-up of this all-marble hotel, I am absolutely set to come back here another time, for a longer stay.
Come July, I was getting married at my go-to resort, the Park Hyatt Goa Resort & Spa. All I can say is it makes a stunning holiday venue, and a stunning place to get married. Because, the beach The people who work there! The hotel put their best foot forward and all our guests went home warm and fuzzy!
After settling back into work, we had to do some more travel. Shipra and I took off for a short vacation to the Maldives in September 2015, and if you had access to the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa, an isolated little private island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, then why would you ever go anywhere else?
For those of you who have been tracking our honeymoon (#redcarpettrip), you do know that we finished up 2015 also on a big note. The last resort we went to in December 2015, was another desolate spot in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean, and with some of the most beautiful views as well! And of course, the calm that comes with being in such scenic locales without many people around.
Most of these visits were made possible with the power of loyalty programs, and just made me believe more in the power of hotel loyalty.
