There is an excellent fare being offered on London to Australia flights for the summers on Air India in Business Class. Air India operates a non-stop flight from Delhi to Sydney and Melbourne on a daily basis.
Air India’s fare is offered for transiting via Delhi and is currently quoting at GBP 1900 for a round trip between the two continents through the summers. Here is the sample routing. These fares book into Z class, which also means a Star Alliance Gold in one trip on some Star Alliance airline programs.
Air India’s new Business Class product on the Boeing 787 is offered between London to Delhi, where you can transfer on the next plane to Sydney/Melbourne with a short 2-3 hour transit, again a Boeing 787-8 flight. You get lie-flat beds, only 17 other people sharing your cabin, some very experienced crew and good Indian food.
I flew this aircraft between Mumbai and London Heathrow a few months ago, and the quality of the product was surprisingly good.
Have you tried Air India Business Class? How has been your experience with their service?
We did that flight . Delhi airport and lounge is terrible ! Flight attendants may well be very old but they have cant be bothered attitude . Food was pretty rubbish and on last leg they changed 787 to 747 which fittings inside looked like originals form very first time it was out of factory . I know its cheap but for £2200 we flown 3 days ago with Qatar and that was superb ! Also AI do give you gold in 1 trip however it is almost impossible to redeem points unless you want to take huge stopover Overal IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE GOOD!
Yes. Which programme will get you gold? Aegean may get you silver.
Can you name programs which allow to get *Gold in one trip? Is it Aeroplan? M sure AI’s own FR won’t give that 🙁
