Of course, the Hyatt Gold Passport is an incredibly generous one with the nice earning potential of 5 points per USD at base level, 4 confirmable suite upgrades per annum for Diamond members, a stellar set of properties around the globe and some genuinely warm and friendly people, some of whom have even become friends. I love the Cash & Points redemptions now a days, where one could pay a bit of cash and then apply suite upgrades as well, such as our last experience in Kathmandu.

  49. Gift my parents a Hyatt Maldives vacationas they really like that style of properties.

  50. Would love to take my wife and our 5 month old son on a vacation to Goa at the Park Hyatt Goa which has been on my ‘must visit list’ since I saw your reviews of the property. 63. I would have loved to use these points for an all inclusive stay at the Hyatt Zilara, Cancun . But then the T&C says, these have to be redeemed on Indian properties, where 2 nights @ Park Hyatt Goa (for a total of 30,000 points) becomes my obvious choice.

  64. Well for a family of 4, 30000 points is going to get me started, but not enough for a full holiday, so will probably use points plus cash for a stay at Maldives or Goa!!

  65. Given that an ideal Goa trip for me would be a combination of partying in North Goa, and time out for food and relaxation in South Goa, i would use these points to spend time in both parts of Goa. Hyatt Place in Candolim should serve as an ideal launchpad to venture out for poker sessions and club nights, while Park Hyatt would let me sit back and enjoy the sun-kissed beaches of Goa

  66. I would take my wife and my infant to Park Hyatt Goa, one of the best properties I have stayed. Would have tried Maldives but for the fact that young children are restricted on the water bungalows/villas as my friends have told me.

  96. Hi Ajay,

I’ve been following your blog for over a year now and here goes my first comment!

I would use the 30000 HGP points to stay in Hotel du Louvre (Category 5). A standard room here typically costs 20000 HGP points per night. So I would be staying there 2 nights in Cash + Points.

I’ve been to the Louvre before and I did see the Hotel du Louvre right across the Louvre. However I did not know it belonged to Hyatt. Thanks to your giveaway, a little bit of digging and I was pleasantly surprised 🙂

I visited the Louvre and Paris while on a backpacking trip with a friend of mine in 2014. This trip was planned by us much earlier primarily to catch a glimpse of the Northern lights – but a few weeks before the trip, I met my wife and we started going out.

Me and my friend spent 4 days in paris going around Versailles, Paris city, Disneyland. We spent an entire day at Louvre ending it with a nice dinner at a restaurant called Le Musset by the Louvre.

I am planning on revisiting these places with my wife this year again and I plan on including Hotel du Louvre into our itinerary.

    Cheers,
    Murali
