KLM has a huge lounge in the non-Schengen area at Amsterdam Airport know as the Crown Lounge 52. A part of the lounge was closed due to renovations. KLM opened the renovated part of the Crown Lounge 52 on December 12, 2018. The second half of the lounge will now undergo renovations. The Crown lounge will open completely in Summer next year. This will coincide with KLM’s 100th anniversary.
According to Boet Kreiken, EVP Customer Experience,
KLM aims to offer the most attractive lounge in the world; a destination in itself. The new lounge concept ties in seamlessly with KLM’s strategy, centring on providing the ultimate hospitality experience, innovation and perfect customer service. The renovated lounge offers KLM a unique opportunity to breathe new life into its long-standing relations with existing customers, and to attract and welcome new customers. We have also started reconstructing the second part of the lounge. Following its festive opening in summer 2019, the KLM Non-Schengen Crown Lounge will be completely ready to provide customers with an exceptional, memorable experience.
The lounge will offer around 1,500 seats up from the previous 800 seats after renovations are completed. It will be one of the largest lounges at 6800 m2. The lounge has a variety of seating options from semi-private chairs to a dining area and will offer an improved concept of F&B service with a focus on fresh and seasonal products.
Following the opening of the first refurbished section, the entrance of the lounge is relocated to the Holland Boulevard, between the E and F piers. There are self-service kiosks for scanning your boarding pass also. The shower section of the lounge is now closed for the second phase of renovations. An alternative is offered at the Mercure Hotel Schiphol Terminal. But due to limited capacity, there is no guarantee.
Due to the current renovations, the access to the non-Schengen Crown Lounge is somewhat limited.
Jet Airways passengers travelling from Amsterdam in First Class and Premiere can access the Crown Lounge 52 only 3 hours prior to departure. All the above restrictions are in place until renovations are completed to prevent overcrowding.

At the lounge now. Ambience/quality wise it all looks quite good. As usual, food wise, any Indian plaza premium has more variety 🙂
I was in the lounge in the month of October.. Was huge.. Bigger than any lounge I’ve ever visited before.. Although the selection of liquor was awesome, the food spread could certainly use some improvement..
@Anuj, I’ve been going to the old Crown Lounge for a while and the food is all functional, not luxurious 🙂
