Kenya Airways’ Asante Rewards offering generous SkyTeam status match

Kenya Airways launched a new loyalty programme in June 2023 called Asante Rewards. Previously, the airline participated in KLM/Air France’s Flying Blue programme. Still, for reasons unknown, the airline has decided to go their way with a new loyalty programme. As such, the airline first offered a status match to all Flying Blue members. However, there is a more extended status match campaign going on now.

Kenya Airways offering Status Matches

Kenya Airways Asante Rewards is offering to match the status of any member with another programme to bring them in as elite members into their programme. But there are perks attached to the status match as well because if you get your status match approved, you will be eligible for perks in the SkyTeam alliance.

While the status match was taking time in the midst, the airline is now back on track for quick approvals. Once approved, the status is good for a year. To apply, you need to follow the following steps:

  1. Sign Up for Asante Rewards at Kenya-airways.com
  2. Send a brief email to asante@kenya-airways.com containing your account number, peer loyalty programme card’s image or screenshot, and a polite note stating why you would like status matched.
  3. You will get a service request number and a response within a few days.

Just to remind you, this offer has no timeline and can be pulled anytime. So, if you are going for it, get it done sooner than later.

Regarding the programmes that Kenya Airways matches, there is everything between Vistara and Emirates I’ve heard of. Since Kenya Airways has four tiers in their programme, if you get matched to the Gold or the Platinum Tier, you will be eligible for SkyTeam ElitePlus tier perks. Some of the benefits of status with SkyTeam include lounge access and complimentary checked bags when flying with an airline that is a SkyTeam member. You can put your Kenya Airways membership number on a the other airline’s bookings and get the perks.

Bottomline

Kenya Airways’ Asante Rewards is offering a status match opportunity, where members from many airline loyalty programs can earn Asante Rewards status for 12 months. If approved, you can enjoy extra benefits when flying with other SkyTeam member airlines as well. You just need to drop in an email with your current status details to Kenya Airways and a reason why you should be an elite member of their programme.

Have you already received Asante Rewards’ Status Match? How do you intend to put it to use?

  1. Kindly note that our status matching process is on a halt for now and immediately we resume we shall notify you.

Got this yesterday! Had applied on Sep 1 or 2

    • @AA I think they got flooded with requests, and the new process is to give out status matches on a more serious vetting than just the photo of the membership card.
