The JW Marriott Sahar is Marriott’s latest hotel addition in Mumbai that opened in 2015. It is an airport hotel located in the vicinity of the Mumbai Airport’s Terminal 2, and shares the space with other marquee hotels such as the ITC Maratha and Hyatt Regency Mumbai as well.

The JW Marriott in Sahar is a category 4 hotel where a reward night costs 20,000 Marriott Rewards points. You can expect to pay about INR 10,000 / USD 155 for a standard room night when paying cash.As we got started for our trip to the UK, we decided to check-in here so that we don’t partake in the madness of last minute packing and leaving. Additionally, our flight was at 6:30 am, so we would have to be out at 2:30 am on this trip.

As you enter the hotel, you notice the beautiful chandelier in the lobby.

At check-in we were advised that we’ve been upgraded to an executive suite. I imagine that Ajay’s Gold status worked here. We headed to the Executive Floor located on one of the top most floors of the hotel.

The suite in itself was not very large but designed in a way that added space and had ample natural light. The interiors are done in a minimalist style.

The executive lounge, located on the 8^th floor has access staircase from the 9^th floor as well.

There is a well stocked bar and when we asked the bar tender to whip us a cocktail of his choice he made us a nice espresso martini.

The evening spread at the lounge is scrumptious and there is a variety of cold canapés and hot items to choose from. I was intrigued by the dessert counter where they had some fabulous desserts up on display.

Next morning we quickly peeped into the lounge to take a look at the breakfast. The spread was reasonable with a made-to-order eggs and South Indian option.

We chose to go for the full breakfast at the JW Café, which was also a part of our entitlements. The spread is expansive with a variety of Indian, Asian and Western selection. They also had a tea cart brewing fresh masala chai.

If you choose to eat some stuffed paranthas you have the hard task to pair it up with 9 different kinds of pickles.

The place has a spa, a very well equipped gym and a beautiful outdoor pool with pool side cabanas and a small private garden. Too bad, in the hustle of the trip, we did not get to use these amenities.

Over all, we had a pleasant stay at the JW Marriott in Mumbai. For an airport hotel, the hotel is designed opulently and true to the JW Marriott brand has a luxurious feel about the property, although there was nothing that stood out for us about the service style. I’ll write a full review later to talk more about that.
