JetPrivilege has launched a new promotion today, where they are offering 25% of the miles back when you make an Award Flight reservation in Premiere (Jet Airways’ business class) between now and June 30, 2016, for travel between July 1, 2016 to September 30, 2016.
There is a list of 82 sectors, where the promotion is valid. These exclude all metro stations from Mumbai and Delhi, and most metro stations from other cities. You can head on to the promotion website to check out where all you can go with the promotion. Some examples include:
- Ex-Mumbai: Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Kozhikode, Coimbatore, Kochi, Dehra Dun, Indore, Chandigarh, Mangalore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Raipur, Thirunavanthanapuram, Udaipur, Vishakhapatnam.
- Ex-Ahmedabad: Delhi
Like you can see, there is no pattern. You can fly Ahmedabad to Delhi and get 25% back, and from Mumbai you can go to Ahmedabad, but not on the way back.
Is this a good deal?
I think so. For instance, a usual ticket between Mumbai – Ahmedabad on Premiere goes between INR 16,000 to INR 26,000 on this segment. With the promotion, you will pay 10,000 miles plus taxes, and get 2,500 miles back, making it a net cost of 7,500 miles plus taxes (1.5 times the cost of an economy redemption). You should ideally get a valuation of over INR 2 per mile on this method. Since the segments are not the metro ones, in many a cases, you will find Premiere tickets to be priced pretty high, and this promotion helps you get some value back.
However, you will need to have the full miles in your account at the time of making the redemption, and the 25% credit will come back to your account by 31st October 2016, after the airline has confirmed that you flew on your ticket.
Bottomline
This sounds like a good deal to burn some JPMiles, because you can get good value out of travelling business class for 1.5 times the cost of an economy mileage ticket. So, if you do have a stash of miles you’d want to use, this is a good time to go for it.

I got an email from jet that this promotion is withdrawn. It was a mistake from the airline.
@ankit that was sent in error and had the wrong dates
Is it applicable if I buy the economy ticket and then upgrade using miles?
@nihit no, only for award tickets
